New Pack Champion!
We just had our Derby today and things went great. My boy won 1st in age group and 1st overall. He only got second once all day (4 lane track), still can't figure out how that happened. It was the second heat he was in, so it was pretty early in the day. The boy that won that race was probab...

Axle Sanding & Polishing
O.K. Derby Masters do your stuff,
I have read about sanding and polishing axles, now I have a question. What procedure do you follow to sand the axles, and what grit do you use?

Re: ORVC Pack 20 Champ
Stan, Here's an Idea. What I have done at our District Race is this. We give out 1 - 3 place trophies 1=17in, 2=15 in, 3=13 in, for each age group. Overall is 1=31 in, 2=28 in, 3=25 in. Here's the kicker, we have a pack championship trophy that is 4 FEET tall. It is a 3 pillar trophy and has ...

Re: How many Race Organizers use this forum?
I have been the organizer for our pack and district derbies for two years now. I was approached last night at our District meeting about putting on a council derby for the first time ever in our council. Thanks to Stan keeping us focused on the boys not the races though, I said no because the percen...

Re: Missouri, Etc.
Racer X & Splinter Sprinter, Since we're talking about Mississippi River Rats, thought I'd throw in. Born in Granite City, Father was from Alton, Mother was from Murphysboro. There must have been some pollution along the river that made us all Pineheads.

Results List (Hardware) for 2003
I thought Sssnake had a great Idea to see how much this forum has helped us. Thought I would try it another way. Instead of a poll we should try a list for 2003 results in this format: Local level-age group Place (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, etc.) Local level-Overall Place (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd...

Re: Dimpled car bottom (like a Lexus model)
Derby Dad, I had the same idea when I saw the commercial, I thought about putting dimples on the bottom of the car. I though I would do it with a drill bit and just start shallow holes all over it. I figured they wouldn't have to be perfect because I would spray the bottom with laquer also, that wou...

Re: District dilema
Sssnake, We always pull our wheels before District, we check them, repair damage if possible and replace if neccesary. I see nothing wrong with this. I look at it like racing in the Daytona 500, after you qualify for the race your car has to be tuned up for the next event, tires must be changed and ...

pwd_neophyte, Take the dimple out. Come on man, everybody's doin it. You want to be part of the cool crowd don't you. Do it. Do it! DO IT :!: :P Probably better get a clarification, if they say you can't I'd make a set that has it fixed with me on derby day and just hang back to watch and see what p...

jpturner, Hey man I feel for you. Sounds like you were had and were trying to blow off a little steam. Honestly I thought you were talking about Maxv in your first post. I was relieved to scroll down to your second post and see that this was not the case at all. That's why I love this site though, w...
