Re: Revised bore prep recipe...

Alright, just hitting bores 2X with MicroGloss and Q-tip stalks in a drill press made shiny bores... but to get rid of most of the chatter (audible) when running, leaving mostly the "shhhhhhh" sound... it took a lot more work. Here's the revised recipe: 1) chuck wheel in drill press set t...

Re: Dremel Advice

Forget cutting a block in half with a dremel, the mini saw attachment might get you through about a 1/4". As far as that craftsman scrollsaw, dremel makes one also, that probably would take up even less space.

Re: District rules question

Thanks for the replies guys, we did pop off the wheels and axles and repolish and did a minor adjustment to the front end (rounded some corners).

We took first and the consistency was unbelieveable, 4 heats at exactly 2.286 1 at 2.287 and 1 at 2.290.

District rules question

Ok guys, our district race is tomorrow and the following was taken verbatim from the rules: The car that races at district must be the same car that raced at the pack race. My question is, how much would you do to the car i.e. lubing, adjusting alignment, re-polishing axles and bores, etc., and feel...

Re: Derby ethics question

Thanks psycaz, I am going to let the other parents know, I will not go quietly and I am sure some will want to follow us, esp. since the assistant cubmaster is well liked by the parents and the wolf leader is also leaving. I hate to even admit that this has kept me up at nite, knowing that this pack...

Re: Derby ethics question

[dang]! Parallel posts! I was commenting when you posted. Be sure to tell your District Executive EXACTLY why you left your pack. Believe me, they do care, even if they claim not to diddle in pack affairs. Find out who your Unit Commissioner is, and talk with him, too. If you are going to wait and ...

Re: Code of Ethics for PWD

T, I like the whole concept of incorporating it into the rules. I think the other posters have it covered, but as far as kit cars go, maybe you can suggest that if a child sees a design he likes on a pre-cut at the local hobby shop, then he could bring it home, sketch on his block and cut it out. Th...

Re: Derby ethics question

Ok, this will be the last update. Couldn't make the meeting but got the play by play from the assistant cubmaster. Cubmaster went to charter rep and had him sign the paperwork for replacing the committee chair. CC didn't put up a fight, said he didn't like the direction the pack was going and was ti...

Re: Derby ethics question

Council representative will be at meeting tonite. You are not going to believe what another leader told me today. He had a conversation with cubmaster and cubmaster said he was going to "replace" committe chairman. Unbelievable.

Re: Derby ethics question

Gravitysteve, you are absolutely correct. All avenues should be travelled before it comes to leaving, and I will gladly exhaust all resources first. Good luck, buddy, stay the course! Thanks to all, learned alot from it. Meeting is tonite and hopefully I can make it there. Either way I will get a r...

Re: Derby ethics question

Many packs are chartered through the public schools from what I have heard, we had a few issues locally that gives me a little concern for how the kids will be welcomed, it is all about them, as far as I am concerned. It is not their fault for adults actions. Apparently the conversation with the soo...
