Den leader gift (after 5 years)
I know it's off topic but this board has helped my son and I build two first place, one second place and one third place PWD cars. After four full years in the scouts, my son is entering his fifth year. The den leader has stayed with these boys even after her own son dropped out for over 1 year beca...

Re: Extremely Disappointed with District Race, Need Advice
To start, I think a seventh place at District for, what seems to be, your first outing is outstanding. Kudos to your and your son. Second, I am a little jealous that you have a district race as I have inquired several times about a council or district race and I am looked at like I am a unicorn danc...

I think the Teeeman review was funnier than the show.

Re: Should I mess with this...
Just for clarification. If I read correctly, you are not running the cars on a track, just a 5' board with an incline. Using the board, without a center guide strip, the car in question is the fastest of the three cars mentioned on the straight incline of the 5' board? If that is the case, I would t...

Re: 9 inch Band Saws
I have the Ryobi 9 inch bandsaw and it has been just great for three cars and two boats over the last 12 months. Easy to adjust and works nice. I use it mostly for the derby stuff.

Re: BSA Colored Wheels...
I just got word back from our cub master. They haven't decided if they will change the rule as it is written or add an exception, but they have agreed that the colored wheels will be allowed for next years race.

Re: Rail Riding - "How To Guide"
I don't have the ability to test if the car would have been faster without the canted rears, but we followed the video to the letter, had the car aligned in under an hour and had wonderful results at the derby.

Re: Thanks to this forum!
PWD_addict - I'm almost embarrassed to say I did have some nerves waiting for the first run. He worked so hard and we hadn't tried a RR before, I just was worried it would hit the rail, slow to a crawl and not finish, all because I messed up the alignment on the car. As the car hit the curve it was...

Re: RR Front steering wheel angle cooresponding to inch drif
Without knowing more about your car it's hard to be too helpful, and I'm a novice at best, but since time is important, I'll see what I can do to help. I would not try to redrill the hole. I would try to shim or bend. Just in case you don't have the link to the alignment program I am linking it here...

Re: BSA Colored Wheels...
I just shot off an email to the cubmaster requesting that they review the rule and consider a modification for next year (this gives them a full year to review) and linked it to the BSA store with the wheels. Hopefully we can use them next year.

I don't remember ever posting in "off topic" but I must ask for those football fans. How did you like the third quarter of the Steelers v Chargers game on 01/11?
