Wow! It's really something to see actual video of that car smoking up the 49 footer!
Simply Outstanding!

Re: PWD "Demolition" Derby?
Great editing skills ... love the smash-'em-up sounds effects! Looks like someone was trying to ride ON rail  Thank you and good observation of the attempted railride! I also noticed the derailing car is already beginning to lean towards the right before the incline of track turns flat! If...

Re: PWD "Demolition" Derby?
Kindof reminds me how people goto a hockey game, waiting for a fight to break out. Heh.bad_karma_2805a1 wrote:Yup, even in PWD people like to watch the races, but love to see the crashes.

Re: PWD "Demolition" Derby?
Shouldn't the flipped car been eliminated in the re-run? What do most rules say about this. After watching this, I really wish I would have recorded my kids races. But Then I can't watch them in real time. HMMMMM Our pack rules are very basic and don't get into a lot of nitty gritty details compare...

PWD "Demolition" Derby?
We had a derailment at our Pack race last week and my wife caught it on Video. Well, as a newbie learning to use Sony Vegas, I created this short clip and thought it'd be fun to share: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdWQnm-0TvA Originally, I added on "Ride of the Valkyries" which I happen ...

A railrider "wannabe"?
Forgive me for not getting into the nitty gritty details as most Railrider threads are, but my tools and measurements are crude at best :) This year, I've had the toughest time w/the axle slots (as per our rules) as I've had to resort to a hammer (yep!) to try to knock it in from the head of the nai...

Re: Question of a bushing?
I agree rlaton it sounds like he shaved the 1/16 off the front..But I now the rules state the car has a 1 3/4 inch wheel spacing I think this is what he is worried about and trying to keep the front wheel from moving in and I don't think the way it sound that the tape will work as a bushing I spoke...

Question of a bushing?
I was just emailed a question about a bushing and I'm not even sure what it is. Here's the copy and pasted email:
If front of car is narrow so I need to put tape or something around axel to keep
wheel out distance. That not a bushing right?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Do you glue your axles?
For the past 2 yrs and 2 races, we've used epoxy to glue in axles and maybe it's overkill to use epoxy. But we're not complaining winning 3rd place pack one year, and 1st place last year :). Our pack rules are standard axle holes, so we think it's worth it because: - One: for fear of any accidental ...

Re: Who will build a PWD car/s during this off-season?
Well this is certainly interesting that "off season PWD" for some here, does not exist :D. Thanks to those that have pm'd me with links to the proxy races, where you mail-in cars that are raced about once a month. I am intrigued to see how my son's pack winner this year would fare up again...

Re: Dremel Advice
Forget cutting a block in half with a dremel, the mini saw attachment might get you through about a 1/4". As far as that craftsman scrollsaw, dremel makes one also, that probably would take up even less space. Well, now that I got the hint from more than a couple here... I will scrap the idea ...

Re: Who will build a PWD car/s during this off-season?
Always have to try and out do the the timer. Current fast time of 2.470 will have to go down in a cloud of dust. :D sdupont1, do you have a test track setup at home? If you do, did you purchase a timer and which one did you buy? I would like to do an "off-season" build just to try to impr...

Re: Who will build a PWD car/s during this off-season?
Very interesting as I didn't know "off-season" PWD races existed. If anyone knows of any in the New York City area, particularly north of the city in Westchester would be ideal, please send me a PM if it's not proper to post about it in the forum. TIA.

Who will build a PWD car/s during this off-season?
I wasn't too sure about how to use the "poll" option, so I'll post this as a question: Who will build a PWD car/s during this "off-season"? This assumes you're done with this season's racing, done with pack, district/council races if you should be so fortunate! An experimental ca...
