Something that is inexpensive for last minute weight adjustments are BB's. You can easily find those at your local Walmart or sporting goods store. We put a container of those in our Pit Area on race day, along with a box of fender washers, for those making tweaks to their cars.

Re: 2017 Ford Fast Track Races

Unfortunately, it is not looking like Ford will be doing the Fast Track races for 2018. I'm holding out some slim hope that they may still put something together, but it does not seem likely. That's too bad, as I think the girls were having fun and getting a lot out of it.

Re: www.BillvsDerbyTimers.weebly.com

It is great to have a new option for an inexpensive timing system for those with some basic DIY electronics skills. Though, on your minimal timing system, it (and others like it) do have a drawback that people should be aware of. If there ends up being a problem with the timer communications to the ...

Re: Stiffest Drill Bits?

@Byiana - For building these cars, we are only drilling into wood, to make holes for the axles to go into. The idea of using stiff drill bits is to keep the bit from following the grain lines, going off the desired drill line.

All the better reason to use oil, my good man. ;)
Assuming it is allowed by the race rules, sure. However, unless it is an oil only race, they will invariably get fouled by graphite.

Derby Evolution posted a photo of the new wheels. Imagine the white wheels with graphite all over them. https://scontent.fapa1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/36176078_1080989785388176_7742285567357878272_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&_nc_eui2=AeGB8RdOrHzebqajizg30ASUxAoEsv2RAgb-wMCsTcq90-r4gSKqyYwigNlqNSlq6ByqgR0...
