Re: Computer Cart

Have you thought about having a cover made for it for those rain'y days when your unloading it out of your SUV and into a building. Maybe even having some pockets made into the cover for the extra cables and power cords and so on. Normally, that is not a problem. Though, I had thought of using a BB...

Computer Cart

If you happen to be someone that runs multiple races a year, like I do, it might be worth it to have a dedicated computer cart. After so many years of doing races, I really wish I would have thought of this earlier. It makes setup and teardown much faster for me, as I can keep the printer and my wir...

Re: RaceMaster IV Communication Issues

Glad you got it working. Low voltage cables running next to high voltage cords can certainly cause problems with timer communications. I always run my low voltage cables on one side of the track and the extension cord on the other side. That and don't run an extension cord under a metal track. With ...

Re: RaceMaster Timer shows 012 345 678 9Ab

I pulled out my RaceMaster to see if I could reproduce your problem. Unfortunately, I wasn't. When first powered up, it displays F00 H00 and then each lane will zero out. Looking through the timer manual, it doesn't mention the 012 345 678 9Ab code. I checked through my old emails and didn't see any...

Re: RaceMaster IV Communication Issues

Make sure to do the "Paperclip Test" from the software's help file to make sure that your port is actually working. There's other good troubleshooting information in the help file. Please note, Version 10 is no longer supported. Only Versions 13 and above are currently supported. Version 18 is the l...

Re: Starting Council Race

Is the council on board with doing a race? There were rumblings in our council about doing a race, but I don't think that one ever materialized. There's certainly hurdles to overcome: person to head it up, venue, date, volunteers, rules, who is eligible, track/timer/software setup, getting the word ...

Re: GPRM 17: Practice Mode

You can do test races, but no times will be recorded. If you want to record times, you will need to create a schedule. For your scenario, you can manually add heats when you are in the Racing screen by clicking on the Manual Heats button. Just select the racer you want to run from the list on the ri...

If you would be willing to put this on a pallet and ship it, I am very interested. I can arrange for the shipping you just have to pack it up.
The aluminum is a bit soft on a Best Track and easy to ding, especially the ends. It needs to be packed very well to ship it.

DerbyWeb WiFi Network

I have been using DerbyWeb for some time now at the Awana races that I run for local churches. Being able to use a tablet computer for registration, staging and the standings has been very helpful. Unfortunately, my WiFi setup had not been able to handle very many users without connection issues ari...

Micro Wizard has implemented some long awaited improvements to their track. The new design is called the "Quick Pack Track". See http://derbytalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8548 for a review of the new design.

Micro Wizard's New "Quick Pack Track"

I had a chance to try out Micro Wizard's new "Quick Pack Track", which they changed to at the end of last season. This new track is basically their Freedom track with some design tweaks to make it easier to setup and tear down. They did incorporate many of the improvement suggestions that have been ...
