Re: Mid America Big Rig track
Is the start gate for the Big Rig track in its normal position for a Best track with the start end extended to accommodate the longer truck or is the start gate moved down the track and the start end is still at its normal height of about 4 feet ? It is an extension that is mounted to the back end ...

Re: Mid America Derby Apr 27 2019
I talked with Greg yesterday and it sounds like there are some cool changes coming to the Mid America race. Now that I have piqued your interest, I'll leave you hanging. I won't steal Greg's thunder and I'll let him tell y'all what's coming. I do intend to be there at this year's race. Hopefully, I'...

Re: Mid America Derby Apr 27 2019
aircooled,I tried writing to Gregg's email but it came back undeliverable. A couple of us would like to race in the "B" class truck but we would like the graphite to be a separate category. They could still race them together but if you sign up for "graphite" only then that would be the only award ...

Re: Changed axles cant get 4 wheels on ground
Very poor rule. It penalizes novice racers. Slap 4 wheels on a car and invariably one will not touch. We should make it easier for novice racers to build a car, not harder.

Re: Changed axles cant get 4 wheels on ground
@gcode - Are you sure there is a 4 wheel touching rule? Not too many races have such a rule.

Re: Theme Race
If we were do a themed race, we would have a separate prize for the car with the best theme. Maybe include the car driver (so to speak) in that, so they could dress to the theme. While the kids could certainly give theme ideas, the adults would need to filter out the unrealistic or too hard to do th...

Theme Race
Saw this article and rather liked the idea of a race theme. Build the cars to the theme. Have an award for best use of theme. What do you think?

Re: Hello brand new here.
Well it surly isnt my car you goof. 47 year old male girl scout? Do better. Some do a race with an adult division. Our son's Cub Scout pack did and our Awana club does. We do that deliberately in the hopes that the kids will be able to participate more in the construction of their car. So no, I am ...

Re: Hello brand new here.
My daughter is now in girlscouts and has a derby coming up and we are going to win 1st place at any $ cost! This is your daughter's car, correct? If so, I hope she is getting a chance to work on it (a lot of "my" and "I" in your posts, not "her" and "we"). Even at 5 years old, there is a lot the ki...

Re: Grandprix Race Manager Issues
So, what happened? All I can surmise is that some Windows update broke something to where it now takes 3-4 times longer to do what it could do before. But what? And how do I fix it? Again, anything else doing disk read/writes on that computer can slow down the process. Maybe Windows was updating it...

Re: Grandprix Race Manager Issues
Version 16 Standings are crunched after each heat and then saved to the data file. More racers means more standings to crunch and more writes to the data file. Anything else doing disk read/writes on that computer (like RaceReplay, Windows search indexer, anti-virus scanner, etc.) can slow down thi...

Re: Computer Cart
I updated my original post. I've added a pull out shelf for the wireless access point. It makes getting into the drawer easier. I also added handles to sides to help load it into and out of my SUV. After running several races with this cart, I am really liking it. The power strip on the cart and the...

Better to post the photos on a site like Imgur. Then you can more easily add them to a forum post with the img tags.

Re: Racemaster Starting Switch
I've never been fond of the whisker switch for this timer. I'd rather have a normal lever type switch and the start gate holds the switch closed when in the up position. One other timer manufacturer swears by magnetic switches. However, I found that you need to be careful with the gap between the tw...
