Re: Car's Weight on the Ramp

Sorry I dropped out of this discussion. But I think everybody is seeing my idea. Whether it's right will have to wait. Too busy with family health problerms.

Re: Car's Weight on the Ramp

When you say "mechanical trail", are you referring to an effect similar that of when a car has non-neutral castor in the alignment? A PWD car has no castor is why I ask...-Terry My theory on why cars go straighter on the ramp (if they in fact do, as they are going slower for much of the t...

Re: Car's Weight on the Ramp

Teeman. Your sons car ran .2 sec slower this year than last year? Wouldn't that mean last years car was faster than your theoretical perfect time? Or was the cumulative times .2 slower?

Re: Car's Weight on the Ramp

Here's a graphic of what we are trying to discuss I think: A very good diagram but the perpendicular force of gravity line and the line of wheel contact perpendicular to the track should cross at the point of contact of the axle and wheel bore. This would show the mechanical trail caused by the ram...

Listed below are some specs. and info on arasives and polishing media: Pumice : 1) Approximately 16 different granulations available from a very coarse granule (4.75 mm and finer) to a very fine powder (45 microns and finer) 2) Two new low micron grades were recently added: a) “Micro-Fine 5” which h...

Re: Cryo treated axles

So should I be storing all the axles/nails in the freezer? :) We like to pack them in dry ice for a week or so before the race. Of course we set the track up on my brothers frozen pond the night before the race to let it acclimate. The only problems occur if it's snowing. Then we have a few few car...

Re: How much weight on the front end?

But how much faster was it any way? Sssnake great looking car Thanks, Pinecar In the outlaw race the only car that beat it was an electric motored, prop driven car. And that was close till the end of the straight. The track that we run on uses an elevated 8' section as a stop. This car shot right o...

Re: How much weight on the front end?

Is this too light. Pack track is steep(to the flats in 1 section) District track takes 2 sections and is 20' longer. It the cars don't wheelie on the pack track I am sure they will be good on the District, unless they hit some debree and shimmie. Do you think the added Engergy by pushing the weight...

Re: Canted Axles

It's a variation on my flex wedge. with the flex perpendicular to the line of travel. This in effect would make the front wheels act like casters. The idea would project the weight of the car in front of the centerline of the axle. This in effect makes the weight pull the wheel behind it and accordi...

Re: Canted Axles

Camber is the inward or outward tilt of the tire/wheel assembly. This angle is measured from a true vertical line, i.e. perpendicular to the ground. A tire/wheel assembly that is tilted outward at the top is considered to have Positive camber. While a tire/wheel assembly tilted inward at the top, di...
