Re: BestTrack 35' or 42' Single Lane Track FS

I would ship the track but I do not have any long narrow boxes for the track pieces. And I have no idea where to get them. Shipping would be around $65 probably.

Re: BestTrack 35' or 42' Single Lane Track FS

The last part of the track has three holes drilled in different sizes for timers. So depending on what timer you get you would just align it with the hole. There is a starting switch already added to the starting gate. So that wire would just connect to your timer. I used two different timers on the...

BestTrack 35' or 42' Single Lane Track FS - SOLD!!

I have a full size BestTrack 35' or 42' track. I say possibly 42' because I think I have another piece of track on my bonus room. No timer. Additional lanes can be added to this track. This is a great track for testing your cars. This track is $306 new. I will sell it for $225. I cannot ship it so i...

What sensors are used with an older NewBold timer?

Hello everyone, I have an older NewBold DTX000 timer that is used for one lane. I do not have the stop sensor for it and don't have time to order one from their website. Does anyone know exactly what sensor i would replace it with from Radio Shack? I know I have to use a lamp above it and the car br...

Re: For outlaw, how much weight is too much weight?

Thanks for that reply. I do have a track to test with so I'll do that starting with 5 ounces and work my way up hoping it will be about 7 ounces like you said. Last year I taped a couple sockets to the top of a car to get near one pound but that was probably too heavy.

For outlaw, how much weight is too much weight?

The pack has decided to make a one pound weight for the parent/sibling race. Is there a point where the weight will be too much on the wheels and axles and slowing the car down? How can I determine what the right weight is to make it go the fastest? I guess I can test with different weight amounts s...

Thanks, that was helpful along with the homemade jig you show in that thread.

Re: The Spoon, Lots of pictures.

Sorry but I have one other question. What glue was used to glue the square tungsten weights together and then in the car itself? I'm starting my car tomorrow and plan to add the weights the same way.

Thanks!

Re: The Spoon, Lots of pictures.

Thanks for the reply. My only question now is if it smeared on after the car is painted? Because the paint and all adds some weight as well. I just ordered some tungsten putty today with a few other things so I'll have it when I get to that point in a week or so. I have my own track and timer to tes...

Re: The Spoon, Lots of pictures.

One other quick question. Are you putting the putty on the bottom of the car? How is it sticking or staying in place when you add it? And last, about how much putty in weight are you using to adjust the weight? I will order some today.

Thanks!!!

Re: The Spoon, Lots of pictures.

Hi Sporty, This thread is great! I may use this method for inserting weights this year. I have a question though. Since you glue the weights in you do not leave any way to adjust the weight. So I assume you have it dialed in as far as how much weight and where it goes? So the only adjustment I can s...

Re: Using a Tungsten Round this year

That's what I'm going to do with cubes this year. Our cars will be the same thickness at 1/4 inches and I'll use a scroll saw as well which I already have. I like what FatSebastian said as far as gluing the cubes together with CA first to make it one piece. This way I can mark the size and cut. I wa...

Re: Using a Tungsten Round this year

So you cut all the way through for the cubes. Before I have left a little wood for them to sit on. I guess I could get thinner doing it your way. And that's what wood filler is used for on top! :) Do you do this for both in front and behind the rear axles? I have normally used my band saw and cut a ...

Re: Using a Tungsten Round this year

Well, I've been reading more and unless I put the weight in from the bottom or in the middle of the car, I don't want it up too high. I hate to cut my axles cause it will be harder to align the read wheels which will be canted. I think I will have to stick with using cubes. I use the 1/4 inch cubes ...
