Re: Mid America results.
It's funny how close the 11th, 12th &13th place cars finished in the open scout graphite race. They were .0003 apart if I remember right.

Re: Mid America results.
The Green Mamba car was smokin' fast. 2.927 average no one could touch it. Congrats to them!

Re: Mid America results.
My son finished 13th out of 97 cars in open scout graphite race. He was .0001 behind the 12th place finisher. Average time was 2.9767. He ran 1.5 gram derby worx wheels, axles from the box bent @ 2.5 degrees. He was 5th in webelos 1 so he'll get a trophy. The live stream was great. Thanks to all who...

Re: "legal" wheel for Mid America open Scout race
We picked up a set of 1.5 gram wheels. Just about have the car done. We'll send it in and see how it does.

Re: Districts
If he finished first or second overall without any indication of something that could be improved upon I'd leave it alone other than a re-lube. If he barely qualified for districts I'd look at everything.

Re: "legal" wheel for Mid America open Scout race
I didn't realize there were 1 gram wheels available with the inside lettering on the wheel still in tact. We'll spring for some 1.5 gram wheels and see how it goes.

Re: "legal" wheel for Mid America open Scout race
Now I'm debating if we should just go with the 2.5 gram wheels. Do the top scout cars have the 1.5 gram wheels? Really don't want to spend $40 or $50 to get the parts to build a competitive car.

"legal" wheel for Mid America open Scout race
Looking at these rules, what aftermarket wheels would be considered legal for the open Scout race? Thanks Rules: IV – Wheels Only Official BSA Wheels are allowed (either new style & old style) all markings must be intact on inside and outside of wheel. You may use the Official BSA Colored wheels...

Re: Does Besttrack ever have sales?
Thanks guys! I may look into the micro wizard timer as opposed to the champ in order to save the pack some money.

Does Besttrack ever have sales?
My pack is probably going to purchase a new besttrack at some point before next year's derby. Does anyone know if besttrack ever has "sales" or free shipping at some point in the off season.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Sources for Plaques/Trophies
This year we decided that no cubscout would get more than one trophy. The design award trophies are as big as the overall trophies. This will spread them out a little bit more. Ended up spending about $270.00 on trophies and participation pins.

Re: So your scout race is done for the year, Whats next ?
My son has a race tomorrow and then we're done for the season. We had a friend and his son from another pack come over last week to look over his car before the race. We ran it against a "Pace Car" on our track to see how it was. It was pretty slow so we went over some things with the cub ...

Re: Should a Cub Scout win two trophies?
I'm starting to hear a little grumbling from parents that "certain" boys (meaning my boys) tend to dominate and win trophies every year. I want to make an effort to please. Have any grumblers expressed their preferences regarding future trophy arrangements? (Besides having your kids stay ...
