Re: Four on the floor rail rider thoughts
I do not remember paying attention to which way the wheel was canted. The wheel touched so slightly that I am not sure that it mattered. I do remember that we wanted the inside of the wheel to touch vs the outside of the wheel.

Got your message. What we did was build a 3 wheeled rail rider first. I then bent the "raised wheel" axle. We turned it so that it was touching just enough to be considered a "4 wheeled car." If you were to push the car to make it roll all four wheels would move. If you pushed th...

Re: Mid America / Council
Yes, for each rank they pulled the 2nd and 3rd place cars. The 1st place cars raced in the championship race. I did not notice them pull any other cars wheels other than my son's in the final race since we came in first.

Re: Mid America / Council
What is funny about that is I went and got the wheels without my son. We have always used black, so I felt like getting something different. I just randomly decided on orange. Last night I told my son that he needed to come up with a name. He couldn't think of anything, so I told him he had to come ...

Mid America / Council
Well, we were planning on making two cars; one for Mid America and one for council. The council car has to be a graphite, four on the floor, no wheel modifications (except removing the step) car. The Mid America will be the open scout oil division. Council is Saturday, so a few days ago I had the ca...

Re: EASY Pinewood Derby Car WINS using Science
The main reason I cant the axles is so that the wheels migrate to the axle head.

No, not directed at anyone. I am just illustrating why I don't think that rule outlaws fenders.

Re: Fenders-Are they legal?
I said it previously and I will say it again. By your interpretation of the 3/8" rule only hover cars would be allowed because by the letter of the rule wheels touch and far exceed the 3/8" rule.

Re: Request for Analysis of Proposed Wheel Base Rule Change
I think a piece that you are missing is the fact that many scouts just buy the kit and stick the axles right out of the box into the supplied slots. I don't think this could be done with your rule could it?
