Re: Purchasing an Automatic Start Gate
I realize this topic is 6 months old. My personal experience correlates with Max V and I will say The Judge solenoid starting gate has helped us tremendously versus a manual spring loaded start gate. Call John and discuss. He was quite helpful to me and his system works well with the GPRM and Micro ...

Re: Using GPRM, RaceReplay and RaceFX together
Randy, Thanks for straightening out this post and setting it up as a new topic. It is better info for me and all DT users! We do plan on obtaining two projectors, although I only have one available at present. Can you elaborate on this? "If using both RCFX and RR in conjunction with GPRM, both ...

Re: Built the car Backwards
Ok. I hate to admit it. But yes, I've been there before. My son took first place in OUR derby... I make mistakes in coaching my son every year. In the end, each tip you employ will add speed. Depending on your competition, these will either add up to help you towards a first place finish or a second...

Issues in 2014 Space Derby
So, I do PWD and Space Derby and have done so for a few years. I love PWD-Easy results with effort. Space Derby is another story... Last year was difficult. this year was 2-3X as difficult. It seems BSA changed the red rubber/plastic tubing on the prop assembly. We had numerous props breaking, rubbe...

Re: Using GPRM, RaceReplay and RaceFX together
Seeing as my questions are totally off base from my original post, would it be best to start this as a new post?

Using GPRM, RaceReplay and RaceFX together
Randy, So this year, we plan to run (1) four lane track with GPRM 14 and just plan on getting our staging personnel to keep a tight game to keep our event down to 2-2.5 hours. We typically see about 50+/- racers. I also am integrating the Race Replay and Sound effects software. Shall I install both ...

Re: What is your favorite PWD Planninh/Coordinator Guide
Vit K, Our pack lets the boys decide. Simple process-We put out small Dixie cups on race day and give each boy two dried pinto beams to put into the cup that is next to the car(s) they like. Which ever cup has the most votes(beans) wins. I like this because it keeps the kids busy for a moment or two...

Re: What is your favorite PWD Planninh/Coordinator Guide
Thanks Whodathunkit. I found the first link particularly useful. Especially on the fundraising/sponsorship! It was a previously undiscovered (by me) link. I know there are others out there with much more planning and am sure a better set of checklist/planning documents exist. I hope others chime in ...

What is your favorite PWD Planninh/Coordinator Guide
What is your favorite PWD Planning/Coordinator Guide? I'm coordinating for both Pack and District races this year. It's time to get my ducks in a row and would like some input as to the best planning guides available. Anyone have favorite(s)? I've poked around and cant readily locate one on DT tonig...

Blue and gold homemade trophy awards
Well, a few have asked. Here are the final awards for our blue and gold awards trophys for our PWD. B&G was based on the Olympics this year, so I painted them gold! silver and bronze. Kids LOVED them as did most adults. Top surface bearing doubles as a display position for the scouts car. So tro...

Million dollar cars and priceless memories
I remember seeing a user signature last year that really struck me. I've even paraphrased this users byline in a pack email I sent out while admitting I was stealing it as well as likely screwing up the wording. Signature was something like "Out of sawdust and sweat come million dollar cars and...

Re: Perfect N 8 lane
Ouch! As I mentioned I am a bit of a Luddite when it comes to this sort of thing. Definetely beyond my capability. I was hoping to find an easier way to run PPN races for our (2) 4 lane tracks. Obviously, numbers for entrants changes every year. Well, I guess I will write this off until I have too m...
