Re: Reprep for Districts

they are tungsten plates, and I added 6 at roughly 5/8 of an oz so almost 4 ozs I think. I would have to go back and look. I want to sand the bottom as we have low clearance and the judges don't like it (used the wrong holes on the jig I have....) so I will be adding more weight.

Re: Reprep for Districts

Yeah I have room to move the weights back, and will be looking at the drift. Also will be checking alignment this weekend.

Thanks for the help.

Re: First in Bears Third in Pack

So the only thing I would suggest is a flatter point. I tried to fix some cutting errors (the boy did most of the cutting) and our car is a bit hard to stage. Also if you go with the fin I used 1/4 plywood and it really needs to be sanded to remove the grain. But its my second favorite car behind Th...

Re: Reprep for Districts

FS, Nope as I put the wheels on at 6 AM and left for the race at 830.... I know I know I tried to get everything done weeks ago.... Will check rear wheel alignment. Also 1.5 degrees isn't enough? thought its didn't really matter the amount of bend just mattered the amount of stearage... IE 3-4 inche...

Reprep for Districts

Okay all, First of all thanks for all the great help I have gleaned over the past 2 years. We finished first in Bears and 3rd in the pack and will be attending districts in March. We went to districts as Tigers and were not competitive. I want to be competitive this year. This years car was trimmed ...

First in Bears Third in Pack

Okay all so now there is a brief lull I can post this years derby car. We went with Hawkeye's Arrow (to go with Thor's Hammer, and Captain America's Shield) http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae352/Chobahk/IMG_20140127_183635_587.jpg http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae352/Chobahk/front.jpg http://...

Re: Just ordered my first set of supplies for this year!

Yes the boy is a comic book nerd (my work there is done :)). We have it all mapped out, Hulk theme next year, and Iron Man the last year. LEDs and Arduinos for the last car. It may not be fast but it will be cool.

Just ordered my first set of supplies for this year!

Okay just ordered 2 39" carbon rods, a chunk of balsa wood, and the micromesh (adhesive backed) kit (1200 to 12000). Already starting to get figity.... We will be making a thin arrow shaped car (Hawkeye's arrow to go with our Thor's Hammer and Capt. Americas Shield). Its going to be a 3 wheeled...

Re: 2008 Special Edition Kits

Okay I have a Z kit, so we can just use them for siblings as those races tend to be the younger siblings, and we can pretty much give them away. I will take one for my daughter and just use the wheels from my sons kit as we will use last years wheels. No my car on the other hand...

2008 Special Edition Kits

Hey all, life is finally calming down enough for me to start focusing back on scouting and PINEWOOD! The pack leader and I found a number of 2008 special edition kits in our storage closet. Are these any good? I know wheels were changed at some point (and the wheels in the kit I took were horrible),...

Re: Inconsistancies of CO2 Powerlets?

Sorry FS, In regards to paintball which may not affect (effect?) Blast cars, dimensions of the powerlet, seal, amount of gas contained in the powerlet, there are others but I would have to track them down. Pressure should be consistant if they are all kept at the same temp, but if the amount of gas ...

Inconsistancies of CO2 Powerlets?

So in the stock class paintball world (yeah I know a bit far afield here, but I was younger once) there is definatley a hierarchy when it comes to the 12g CO2 powerlets. With Lelands being one of the best and Crosman being one of the work (as far an consistancy goes). So I was wondering what those o...

Re: Thank you for all the help.

Ted, awesome cars!

Also I'm trying to place your view... Are thse the Cascades or Olympics you can see across the water? I grew up in Sultan (Steven Pass area) and used to work in Seattle (just north of the PI building) and my first house was in Renton.
