Re: Adhesive vinyl -for underbody
Yep. HCAV aluminum tape for sealing ducts. The stuff has serious hold, provide you give it enough surface area to hold on to. The only times I ever had problems with it is when I only gave it 1/8" of wood to hold on to. I cut a larger piece and had no more problems. We've used it on 9 cars now...

Re: Setup for Wood track at Districts??
The angle should be standard because of the design. We will be setting up the track this Friday, Feb. 28th, at 1 PM and racing all day Saturday. You're certainly welcome to come tune your car Friday or Saturday. Two different packs will be racing separately Saturday and there will be an intermissio...

Re: Adhesive vinyl -for underbody
Ok, here is what I found and played with just a little bit. I stopped at the local hobby store and found plastic sheet that they cover RC airplanes with. It had a back that would peel off but didn't seem very sticky. I cut it out applied it and then hit it with a heat gun. I'm like hmmmm tight, and ...

Re: Drilling canted axle holes with pro body tool
A while back I remember some guys were drilling 2.5 deg canted axle holes by placing a drill bit between the block and the tool to tilt the block. Was there ever a consensus as to the effectiveness of this technique? I want to get away from bending axles in the rear but I don't want to spend the mo...

Re: Setup for Wood track at Districts??
Too many variables! Quick! Find a Piantedosi that will be set up in the vicinity and beg time to run on it! If you can't find a Piantedosi, settle for a Freedom track of same length. If you can't find a Freedom, settle for a Best track of same length. Go in with rears aligned just right. On the tra...

Setup for Wood track at Districts??
Last time on a best track I think we pulled 3.09
1. lack of knowledge
2. 1/2 COG
3. 2" per 4' RR
note: the car was all over the place at the end of the track.
I'm thinking
1. 3/4 cog
2. 4" / 4' RR
More cog and maybe 5"/4'?
Thanks

Re: Drilling canted axle holes with pro body tool
Here's a new tool that is similar to the Pro-Body Tool but has variable width. I wonder if this would be more useful for drilling canted holes than using the Pro-Body Tool... http://www.pinewoodpro.com/images/PRO-Driller-250.jpg I learned my lesson on one of these! You really have to get it tight a...

Inside hub seam??
Ok, got me a nice little 10X jewelers magnifying glass. Was feeling pretty good doing Sporty's Hub prep, looked great then zoomed in. And that's when I seen the seam. Checked my other ones and seen it in them. Anything you can do about these? I guess everyone has to deal with them.
Thanks

Adhesive vinyl -for underbody
Ok, I found a lot out on the web, anyone have a brand that's the stickiest? I found some car wrap from 3m that looks very promising! The Gorilla tape sounds awful sticky!!! But is it heavy? Then I found, get this 'Hurricane Tape' (by bunker industries) LOL The Car could be thrown against a brick wal...
