Re: Opinions Wanted: Critique my Rail-riding explanation
Hey - question for you guys on rail riding. Why such a huge drift? I've been reading on RR and most are saying 3-5" over 8 feet. Thats huge, basically as soon as it leave the block it runs into the rail I'd think at that amount. Why not like .5" over 8 feet so it has time to build up speed...

Re: Bare wood or paint where wheel touches car?
I'll pick up some CA glue and do that, thanks! Any tips on putting it on without getting any in the axel slot?

Re: Bare wood or paint where wheel touches car?
We have to use graphite, can't bend the axels, no slide guides or washers, change any of the wheel at all - strict rules. They do allow however only 3 wheels touching.

Bare wood or paint where wheel touches car?
I tried searching for this answer to no avail. In the photos area I've seen cars where the entire block of wood is painted. In the past few years of working with my son on his car, we've always taped where the wheel meets the block. Is is better to just paint it? I plan to coat with automotive clear...

Questions on raising a wheel
Our rules are very strict, no bending anything, wheels must be flat, etc. One thing we are allowed to do is run on 3 wheels. I've made several cars with raising a wheel but have been wondering about a couple things that even after searching I'm still not sure of. 1. I can get the alignment to go fai...

Re: Blocks out of alignment in the BSA boxes
Our rules say we have to use them, but we can fix any that are 'broken'. I'm certain I'd mess it up worse than stock if I tried to drill a new slot - it's not just drilling a hole, the whole axle has to be visible from underneath the car.

Blocks out of alignment in the BSA boxes
Anyone else have this problem of the slots being cut very badly in the BSA pinewood boxes? I went through 4 boxes without finding a single one cut well. Two of them were nearly a full millimeter off on the angle cut. I ended up ordering a couple blocks from MaxV that are hopefully cut better. Is thi...

Re: Building a 32ft single lane track - COMPLETED
I wish I thought about buying that flooring before I did my track. Cutting a totally straight edge is a nightmare. I think I'm going to run to home depot or lowes and pick up a box of that flooring! By the way, Amazon sells a stopwatch with 3-thousandths of a second timing for $20. Fairly easy to op...
