Re: Freedom Track Mods

I guess I'll have to look around near me. Or I can have the PC company tape off all the edges so the track will still join properly.

Re: Freedom Track Mods

So after a couple of 3 hour polish sessions the track looked good. I had an outstanding thought the other day. I'm going to get it powder coated! Then all it will take is a light cleaning and some wax. Anyone have ideas on color? I don't really want to do the 4 Awana colors as its often used in Non ...

Time plus finish order is nice, Cool factor is up there. I don't NEED it.

Re: Freedom Track Mods

We didn't get an anodized one. I generally clean it every time out but it needs some sprucing up after lots of use. I'll reach out to a couple companies and see what they say.
I guess I'll have to look for a used timer. I like my K2 but that is very cool.

Re: Freedom Track Mods

Randy,
My track is in need of some serious polishing. Have you done it and what did you use? Also where did you get the cool timer in your photobucket? I might just have to get one of those!

Re: Wireless timer connection

You can with a Bluetooth device plugged into the timer's computer port and a dongle plugged into the computer. I've tested such a setup but had occasional drops in communication. I certainly would not want that to happen during a race. A wired connection will always be the most dependable. Pretty m...

Wireless timer connection

I've had several people ask if there is a way to make the connection between the timer and the computer wireless (they were willing to help fund it). Is there a way to do such a thing?

Re: Freedom Track Mods

I guess I am generous. :)
I used some rivet nuts on the startgate mount. it worked great. I may investigate changing the front support but I don't have time in the next month.

Re: Freedom Track Mods

Thanks for the size tip. I forgot to get one this morning.

I guess I'm pretty generous! we show up with 3 guys, run the race for them and generally get $50.

Re: Freedom Track Mods

I can tell there's a difference already. My next races are in April so I have some time to tinker. I'm sold on the start gate mod and the wing bolts. Do you happen to recall the size of those? I could just grab one at church tomorrow I suppose. Hey how much is your rental fee and what do you include...

Re: Freedom Track Mods

I have the same track. Can you provide a pic from the side of the new slope? I'm interested in doing that mod but not certain. Also, I like the start gate mod. would a rivet nut do the same thing? I have access to those. I may have to run down to Fastenal on lunch next week!

Abrasive sticks

I have some abrasive sticks in 600,900,1200 grit that I have found to work well when starting to polish axles. $10 per stick TYD. Kids can use them easily as they are rigid and easy to hold. They can be wetted with soapy water, water or alcohol. They last a long time. http://i102.photobucket.com/alb...

Re: Bang your head

Correct, no additional distortion.
The temp in the garage was 15* it was closer to -5 outdoors. Tough to handle the DW tool. Cryo cooling would be interesting. I'd like to see that done.
