THINGS GET STRANGE WHEN THE LEAVES BEGIN TO CHANGE

As pack and youth group PWD Racing slowly raises a sleepy head from its summer slumber it awakens to the new normal known as Social Distancing. Once thought to be the Death Knell of PWD, Troy Eastman, The Pinewood Derby King has discovered the brain banks have done their due dilligence and have disc...

Self Reliant

Have a wood plainer & jointer for excellent and accurate sizing and plenty of free poplar, oak and pine. Will plain out 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8 planks in mass, drill and shape, pick the best ones and roast hot dogs with the rest. Looking for a bench mount or portable table saw with deadly accurate ripp...

Re: Weight bias Equation

Done with AWANA as the Grand Girl has aged out so Carley and PaPa's Racing is now defunct. As you know we're now barley into the league scene as Do It For Dale Racing. Karting....Lake Speed ring a bell ? A home State karting and NASCAR Legend. Hope you read my above reply to you and watched the vid....

!0-4 Eagle racing today after a weekend from Hades last week when The Intimidator did a nose dive off the work bench. When standing there with it's rear clip in one hand and the rest of it's body in the other set in motion a 3 day/night total makeover with only 3 hours sleep per night. Hopefully it ...

Re: Weight bias Equation

Yes about the DIFD Eagle, we haven't raced APR but have spoken to Terry and it is in the plan to do so. He's like Speedster, a great guy with a lot of knowledge. There are Nationals but most churches in our area stay to themselves with only 1 Grand Prix per year. The race discussed was our first rac...

Re: Weight bias Equation

Speedster thanks for the acknowledgment about not being lazy. That Crazy, Lazy, Hazy days of summer post was just me being me with a little my strange sense of humor and a bit of misdirection. Who ever may have mentioned we might be lazy doesn't know the work ethic of The Do It For Dale Flyin' Ace's...

Re: Weight bias Equation

Speedster....been thinking about the experiment. The bore size should have some effect on the findings. The league guys have the opportunity to purchase trick wheels that have been manipulated and the selected wheels for their machine work may be chosen by bore size along with other factors to bette...

Re: Weight bias Equation

Speedster the 1.5 degree bend although standard at many levels pales in comparison to the 6 degree bends used at some higher levels. How do you suppose that equates or should be adjusted into the equation. This could become a long thread LOL LOL.......RRR

Re: Weight bias Equation

Great thought Eagle, kudos !! Speedster you're hypothesis makes total sense.....as usual !! Can't wait for your test results. You may have just given me the handful of hundreths needed to run at least mid pack in BASX if not more. I'm as excited as the ugliest girl in school getting ready for her da...

Re: Weight bias Equation

Curious findings Speedster. Did you uncover what attributed to the better speed with the .087 ? I wouldn't suppose it's more stability. Perhaps less friction area or slightly enough height differential that would affect weight bias loading one or more wheels differently or an overall difference in a...

Re: Weight bias Equation

Not the rule but 4 3/4" WB seems to be the weapon of choice of the BASX League racers. But have the weight bias equation in hand now. The .093's take a LOT of slop out of the bore/axle differential making for a more stable car. Set tight gaps and incorporating derlins as part of the set up seem...
