Re: Can someone PLEASE send me the plans to the Binder Winde
The Binder Winder is a machine that I built that winds 4 space derbys at a time and also counts the number of turns. I sell the plans for $15.

Re: Space Derby Autowinder Sources needed
I have just completed the plans for the Binder winder. They will come with a parts list as well as some working prints to show the minor machine work (drilling holes) that needs to be done. I still have some minor details to finish up so please stay tuned.....

Re: Space Derby Autowinder Sources needed
I finally got a video of the Binderwinder in action. It's a low quality video but you can see how we do it. The video is from our packs space derby that was held this past monday. Just for the record, I have two boys and one wanted to make his rocket look like a school bus and the other one wanted t...

GPRM; Had a car jump off the track, how do I re-run the heat
Our pack had a test day and in two different heats we had a car jump off the track. We are using GPRM 4.0 and a fastrack timer. How do I re-run the heat?

Re: shims - don't drill the holes straight?
Maybe your problem is not alignment, the fact that your car doesn't go straight might have something to do with internal friction. One wheel might have more friction on the axel than the other. You say all the weight is on the rear wheels, is there any weight on the front? You need at least 3 wheels...

Re: Timing Problem - Lesson Learned
I have a question pertaining to the length of the cable between the Fastrack finish line and my PC. We have about a 9 foot 2-conductor cable that I believe came with the finish line but I want to have about a 30 foot cable instead so we can place the PC up near the starting line. What kind of troubl...

Re: Space Derby Autowinder Sources needed
I forgot to mention that by the end of the race the batteries in the hand held model must have given out because the kids were winding up their own rockets for the last couple of races.

Re: Space Derby Autowinder Sources needed
I saw one of those hand held models last night at a local space derby. It looked alot like the one that was pictured on the previous post. Although it was easy to use and certainly portable, it looked like it had trouble winding only (2) rubber bands up to 100 turns. Our pack runs (3) binders and we...

Re: Building a light tree for the Grand Prix software
Okay, it sounds like the solenoid will need 24 volts. What about the lights? Can I run the light tree off the 5V power out of the computer? I really like the fact that the Grand Prix software has the light tree capability but I want to keep the setup as simple as possible. Although, if I'm using 110...

Building a light tree for the Grand Prix software
Our pack has the Grand Prix program and I want to build a light tree for it. Am I understanding the software help pages correctly? It looks like I can connect the lights and the starter solenoid directly to the 25 pin cable coming out of the computer? As long as everything will work off of 5 volts? ...

Re: Space Derby Autowinder Sources needed
I don't see a way to post pictures on this forum, is it possible or am I missing something? I have pictures of my binder winder and I'd like to share them without sending individual emails to each person that wants to view them.
