Re: Rules changes form one race to the next

We are lucky, our Council, District and Pack all use the same rules. Keeps the confusion to a minimum. We update our pack rules any time there is a change in the Council rules.

Re: Fastest Graphite Test, FINALLY!

But Max V's results favor Tube O Lube over Hob E Lube. Maybe putting Hob E Lube in after either Tube O Lube or PW Extreme is what is picking up the speed? Could this be? This is how it seems. Both test sets were ran with one of the two applied first, then Hob-E-Lube afterwards. Does the fine powdery...

Re: Fastest Graphite Test, FINALLY!

Dangit, I just bought a big ol' bottle of PW extreme. Anybody need to borrow some? LOL. We have always used Tube-o-lube and been satisfied. I think we have to stick with what we know works. Sounds like the PW extreme runs out of gas too soon. I really wish you could compare Tube-o-lube to Hob-e-lube...

Re: Best material for axles?

Technically, you should be able to cut almost anything you want to provided you have the correct cutter. Stainless would be a good choice, but will be harder to polish. There are countless tool steels available that would make great axles as well. A good source for stock would be www.mcmaster.com Yo...

Re: New Axles

I had some of these before. I think the ones I got came from the BSA Speed kit. They seem to be of better quality than the ones with the car kits.

Re: Allow the boy to race or not....

You would think with those rules you could do almost anything you want to with the wheels. I saw nowhere in the rules that sanding would be prohibited. Even moreso, with those vague rules you could really allow lathe turned wheels, coned hubs, ultra thin tread and so on.

I would have passed it!

Re: maybe a dads race in Cadiz.

Our only rules: 5oz. 2.75 wide gravity is the only means of propulsion We had a 3 wheeled car at district that we would not allow to race but the owner was understanding. Why couldn't the 3 wheeler race, when you only had 3 rules and non addressed number of wheels in contact? It had two on the fron...

Re: maybe a dads race in Cadiz.

Oh, our District Outlaw race was wild. There were some extreme designs for sure. I can tell you this, get some Derby Worx razor wheels, make it as long as you can and still fit on the track and you will be way ahead of the rest. We really did not have any problem with it overshadowing at all. At bot...

Re: maybe a dads race in Cadiz.

Well, us hicks up here in Lawrenceburg had our first outlaw race at pack and district level this year. The both went well with no complaining. Our only rules: 5oz. 2.75 wide gravity is the only means of propulsion Obviously, if it did not fit well on the track, oh well, your problem. We had a 3 whee...

Re: Disqualification due to wheel shaping

As long as they are official BSA wheels, its OK. You can use the speed kits, notice it says BSA "kits". You can also use the extra wheel kits. As far as the axles, what the rules are basically saying is grooved axles aren't legal. Everyone I know tapers the nail heads. Inspections are not ...

Re: New Graphite Comparisons

I dunno for sure either. If you rub Tube O Lube between your fingers, all you get is a smooth, dark gray, somewhat shiny look. When you rub the extreme, you get that same look with some larger flakes that look more silver than the rest. Nice looking stuff, I am just interested in the comments some h...
