Re: GPRM: Disqualify after scheduling?

You cannot unpass a racer after you've created the schedule, without deleting out the schedule (and any results for any heats already run), which is generally not desirable. If you have a racer that is disqualified after racing starts you can turn on the Exclude feature in the Software Settings scre...

Re: BSA Derby Track across America

I do think that if they made it less far fetched, it would have been a better April Fools joke.

Re: Grandprix Race Manger Issues

With V16 and V17, after a heat the software does crunch the standings and stores them to the data file. That can take some time with more racers and a slower running system. With running RaceReplay, the video processing can cause a slow down in the system as well, so it does take some more horsepowe...

Re: Powering timers with USB

I finally had a chance to try this out at a race. It worked perfectly. After the race, the battery pack wasn't showing any appreciable loss of charge (still 4 bars on the battery's meter). Thanks for the sharing that idea. I like having one less cord to run.

Re: Design Judging Article

I'm curious to hear what others think about a car that is automatically disqualified at the start because it is "too good". Unfortunately, I hear about that going on quite often. It ignores the fact that this should be a joint project of a child working with an adult, not the child alone. Besides, ...

Re: Best timers for use with GP Race Manager

I forgot to mention the Microwizard timers will run on a battery pack that Microwizard has for sale. They're inexpensive. They operate on 6 - C cell batteries. No need to have a wire needing to be plugged in someplace. Haven't tried it yet, but I got the power converter and a power pack to run our ...

Re: Best timers for use with GP Race Manager

Our Pack Timer (an aging Smartline) has fritzed out on us in the middle of a race again (reported accurate finish order, but not accurate times), so I feel like it's time for our Pack to consider a new timer. That could have been a start switch issue. The SmartLine\Champ timers will provide times r...

Re: Incomplete heats

If you go to the Racing tab of the Main screen, select the race group in question, then on the right select "Not Completed" under Show Heat Results, are any heats listed? The only time you should get that warning is if you somehow skipped a heat(s).

Re: GPRM v17, UX suggestion

This is minor, since I think most people probably just import from spreadsheets, but... In the registration screen, when you're entering a racer, it would be nice if, in addition to just a "Save" button, there was a "Save and Add Another" or maybe just an "Add Another" checkbox to tick, so that it ...

Re: GPRM on Linux?

Not sure if you can use Wine to run GPRM on Linux. Never tried it. Though, when trying to run GPRM on Mac using Wine, the serial port communications would not work. As for adding support for Linux, I don't think that there are enough people running Linux to justify the effort. I get more people aski...

RaceMaster Sensors - Replacement Part

With the company that made the RaceMaster timers now out of business, getting repair parts can be an issue. One of our software customers had a defective lane sensor and was able to find a suitable replacement part (Part# L14N1) to repair it. That is available from Elliot Electronic Supply.

Re: Timing issue

There is certainly something weird going on with that timer. The software is merely parroting the results that the timer is sending to it.

Re: Timing issue

Please send your HardwareDebug.log file to support@grandprix-software-central.com so I can see what data is coming in from the timer.

This file logs all communication between the software and timer and is located in the Documents\Lisano Enterprises\GrandPrix Race Manager folder.
