Re: Dual projector screens on Gprm v17

Yes, just make sure to turn off the Full Screen Mode in the Advanced Software Settings screen. Then you will be able to drag the screens to whichever monitor you like.

Topics posted to wrong forum

I've had to move several topics recently. The General Topics forum is really intended for something of interest to both race coordinators and racers. If you want build advice, please post to the Car & Semi-Truck Construction forum.

Re: Can I have some help?

Awana axles are a tad larger in diameter than BSA axles.

If using the slots and you don't have a drill press or drilling jig, you can use a pin vise to drill for the axles. Like this or this.

Re: Mock/Test races in software with out timmer

Yes, you can easily run mock races. + Create yourself a data file to do your testing in. That way you don't have to worry about cleaning out your test data for your actual race. + Enter racers + Create schedules + In the Racing screen, you can use the pop-up menu to turn on the Test Mode + For each ...

Re: Powering timers with USB

I went ahead and purchased a power converter and battery pack and will give it a try at a race this weekend. There are times that I end up one extension cord short and instead of adding one, not having to use one for the timer means that I will have a spare when needed. This particular power convert...

Ah, did not know that the BestTrack switches were so fragile. I made my own gate and switch mount and designed it so the switch is recessed into the track and out of harm's way.
The start switch is fine, it's the reset switch that is a bit too fragile.

Re: Best Track Mods

Wow! I didn't realize each Girl Scout race held in all those different cities across the states used the same two tracks?! Did they ship them or drive them to each venue? I just envisioned two guys driving a U-Haul truck across the United States :rofl: Yes, same two tracks. One guy with a big Ford ...

Re: Best Track Mods

Even if the track sections have a little sag on the long spans, it doesn't change from run to run so the times shouldn't really change either. ... I think the main things to work on to have a consistent track are the smoothness of the track joints, the leveling (in both directions), the start gate,...

Re: Run Off with the Top 4 Cars

Here's the problem. I set up six databases, two for each group above. After the primary kids finish I take the top four cars and create a new database with just those four cars and do a run off with just those four cars to get 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place . I repeat that same procedure for the junior ki...

Re: Standard deviation help

Average times on a Best Track can vary depending on how you setup the track, especially leveling and the angle of the start section, as well as the level of competition that runs on the track. Standard Deviation is a measure of variation. A small standard deviation means less variation between runs,...

I like the idea. Your power converter link goes to a plug adapter.

Re: Single Lane Start Lane Rotation

Normal lane rotation schedules are slow and boring. Slow, because you are always waiting on cars to return from the finish line to be loaded back to the track. Boring, because racers pretty much face the same opponents over and over. Billy always beats Johnny. If you must do a Lane Rotation schedule...

Re: Bluetooth Track timers

Cables = Dependable
Bluetooth = Occasional dropped communications

Maybe Bluetooth is more reliable these days, but when I tested a Serial to Bluetooth device a few years back, it would occasionally drop communications. You don't want that happening in the middle of running a heat.
