Re: New car for districts

The car has to have been built in this scout year. It does not have to be the same one raced for the pack.

New car for districts

We were trying to have both a race and a car show this year. This is only the second year we've had a district race so we're still working out some of the kinks. The theory was that boys with slower cars can still come to district and have a good time by entering their car in the show, especially if...

You should try tweeting that to Sears and see if they respond. I tweeted my son's banana split car to Baskins and Robbins, thinking we might at least get a coupon out of the deal, but they ignored me... :idk:

Re: Mirage paint question

I made ghost flames by painting metallic purple over regular purple. The effect wasn't 100% perfect, but for my intentions it was just what I was looking for and didn't cost and arm and/or a leg.

The red car looks like something that might have been used in the [censored] Tracy movie, and the black one looks like a cruise missile. :)

Re: Inserting axels

If you drill holes in the slots first, it's easier to insert. Can almost do them by hand. I took a scrap piece of wood and drilled a slightly larger than wheel-sized hole about half way through. I use it to be a holding area for the bottom wheel when I'm inserting the top one. I also have the Derby ...

Wow. Just. Wow. Love the in progress pictures, and the engine is amazing. Lots of parts, lots of time and effort (and love) went into this design. The windows are so cool. 8-)

Re: Home Depot Kids Workshop - Race Car

Home Depot and Lowes both have these workshops every month. Later in the Spring you might make a flower pot holder. Around Mother's Day we made a picture frame. I think Home Depot is the first Monday of every month, or something like that. When my boys were young we went every month. Since they've g...
