Re: The West Coast Grand Prix

Right left, up down, level, 27.1 degree start section....Still need to work on stop section.

This is a race not a demolition derby. If a car/truck leaves the track it will not be do to lack of time and or effort spent in track prep.

Thanks for racing! Looking forward to seeing your entry.

I believe this is what Speedster is referring to: Recent press about The West Coast Grand Prix Interview on HMONG USA TV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThB5qaTcIfI&t=265s Electronic Version of today's newspaper https://hanfordsentinel.com/community/grand-prix-brings-boxcar-races-to-rjjh/article_0cf...

Re: The West Coast Grand Prix

The perpetual trophy is done. Who will enter in an effort to be one of the first to be placed on this beauty? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200220/0d1122767977198975fa90d6687aa1b1.jpg The custom, division specific, super cool trophies are almost done as well. I said what do you mean> Woodshop teacher sai well we don't have money to buy the kits. I said wait you don'...

Re: The West Coast Grand Prix

Speedster I have come up with a geometric design. It is all straight cuts. But, I'm going to add fenders. Whodathunkit is putting fenders on one of his. Not sure, scientifically, if they area advantageous weight vs speed on the thinner wheels, but, I don't want to get beat by a fendered car and wond...

Re: The West Coast Grand Prix

As to axles, what if I use Scout axles, but do all the things a stainless axle has? I've done it. I've also done it on MV axles. We have literally built Awana and Scout cars from all components out of the box and beat our own cars with paid axles and wheels. I've also spent time with the girls and o...

Re: The West Coast Grand Prix

I would say more Scouts use the rules out of the box then anything else. Wheel profile is different at MA because they allow all Official BSA wheels. If someone spends the time and hunts down wheels from the 80's there is no lettering on the side. So one could alter the wheel profile for less fronta...

Re: The West Coast Grand Prix

I have repeatedly asked Council for support. Even doing a flag ceremony would be nice. So far, nothing. There is absolutely no reason why Scouts cannot participate under existing rules. This race is designed to be a lead into Mid America. And, we are running Mid America rules. Mid America runs more ...

You can view the original at https://sites.google.com/site/rjjhwoodshop/news/anotherpost I've had rules changed on me after car was shipped, but before the...
