Re: Axle in original location and rail rider, help

So, do rules say you must use the slot? Axles must be visible? Nail heads must be visible? Sounds like you have to leave the slots, and the wheels have to be 4 3/8" apart. That doesn't mean that you have to use the slots. As to your question: If you cant the dominate front wheel (top out) 5 degrees ...

Re: New to the Derby

Likely speed left on the table would come from someplace other than the .01oz under. Add the .01 an on the next scale you might have to take it off.
If you want to run it again check out http://www.TheWestCoastGrandPrix.com

Re: Personal experiences with "slots required" rule

Speedster it is a still picture, but it looks like drill press is being used as a press. I just wanted someone coming here and looking to be informed. If someone wants to cut an axle and use it to drill bit - ok. But, I don't think anyone should attempt to chuck up an axle head in their dill press a...

I understand now. I thought you were installing the axles with the drill press. I must have missed a post somewhere.

Re: Personal experiences with "slots required" rule

Using the drill press as a press?

Surely not spinning axles while inserting.

Re: Personal experiences with "slots required" rule

Seems like a silly rule. What exactly are they inspecting for? And, how does seeing them help in that endeavor? That being said Clear epoxy (which isn't always clear at any thickness is likely your best bet. Then if you have a Clear Jig it is super simple to drill all your holes. You can even get a ...

Speedster,Something wrong there. Hobby Lobby caries Pinewood Derby Supplies year round. I would ask for the general manager or the regional manager. Someone is not doing their job and reordering

Speedster Pinecar or whatever they are being called now. Available at Hobby Lobby. They come in most if not all of their kits. And, I believe they have/had a kit with just the axles.

Re: Information on Derby Car Supplies by Roadway Racers?

AGREED! PS I wish Derby Worx would sell direct. In this day and age I do not understand the appeal of what they do. Get them to me in bulk and I'll list them up on eBay. WIN-WIN-Win. Those looking online (which most do these days get the best toll for the job. Derby Worx would sell more. And, we kee...

Re: rattle from tungsten weights

All looks good! Yes on the book. I have never used the straight axle. I do have a couple in case I run across a rule set like yours. I think they would be esy to bend. And if you bend one side and then the other you could lay on flat surface to make sure it is flat before installing. Then epoxy it i...
