Do you mean inside the bore? If so, I use a chuck reamer to ream them all and then polish them.

We bought one set each and went with it. Still had the top 5 cars in the pack, and all ran colored wheels except mine. My wheels came from one kit box.

But the main problem I have with eBay cars is that they completely subvert the whole purpose of the derby. The purpose of the derby is not to see which block of wood crosses the finish line first. One is that they are concerned about a noticable drop in registrations and fear they aren't going to have a large enough turnout to cover costs. I preface this by saying it's a totally educated guess.

Pro built cars are doing ~12.5 fps on 35 ft tracks, so you'd want somewhere ~10fps or greater on such a short track.
