Re: Will Chrome monokote affect timing light?

Thank you. Wouldn't it reflect off the top of car also and not register?

Will Chrome monokote affect timing light?

We're considering covering our car with chrome monokote (heat shrink coating). Will this throw off the timing light?

Re: Newbie back again

I'm a little uneasy about only 1/8" between axle and weights. Seems I tend to have that area break on me at the axle. What about 2 rows of weights on top of each other just behind the rear axle and the rest of the weights ahead of the axle are underneath?

Re: Newbie back again

How do I measure the weight on DFW accurately? Is the railrider easier or more forgiving to tune with extended wheelbase?

Newbie back again

Hello all. Its that time of year again and my boy decided he'd rather have the fastest car than a three-peat of Best of Show. We've cut a wedge that weighs 1.5oz by itself without baking the block yet. I've drilled the front and back for max extended wheelbase. We'll use a dremel tomorrow to carve o...

Re: night-before-race tuning ? Race results added

Running with zero camber on the rears, the wheels should migrate neither in nor out when rolled both forward or backward (with zero toe on the front). The wheel migration that you described will create wobble as the rear wheels fight each other for control. It will also slow you down. The usual loo...

Re: Cars Built with a Dual-Purpose

Very cool. I drew up a CJ2a pulling a military trailer as an option for my boy this year but his heart was set on a missile. How did the short camo Jeep go down the track? Did it wobble or what were it's characteristics?

Re: Best COM location for stock axle wheelbase distance?

My sons are building RR cars with the stock axle wheelbase distances in accordance with local rules. They will cut off some of the back and move to the front such that the rear wheels will be located as far back as possible (same rear wheel location as for an extended wheelbase car), but the wheelb...

Thanks. My boy picks the design and we try to make it fast. Kind of like a sleeper I guess.

Re: Our first 2 cars

How did it get to the bottom of the hill so quickly??? I'm not sure. Could it be because the bulk of the added rear weight was high on the body? We added all of our 2.52 oz of tungsten in the rear 1" of the car. The COM was 1 1/16". I had it aligned so the rear wheels barely went out to th...

Re: Decal question

Cool cars. I'm very new to this car stuff but this year we cleared our car then applied the decals. I didn't have my boy re-clear coat it and should have. Just while handling the car and lubing the wheels the edges of the decals began to lift slightly. Once that happened the graphite stuck to the ex...

Re: Our first 2 cars

Cool! On the tank, are the middle two rows of wheels modified so they will never hit the guide rail? I'm thinking making the tread width narrower by trimming the inside section away, at least for the bottom 3/8" or so? That rocket looks like it's ready to be turned upright and blasted off. Tha...
