Re: What is the max weight possible???
We had gone up to just over 12 ounces for our cars for a Wal-Mart race a couple of years ago. I was afraid to make them heavier for fear they would launch off the end of the track. I put some non-skid strips on the bottom of the car for some extra stopping power. My three kids got 1st, 2nd and 3rd p...

Re: How much hardware?
Can you tell me how to change the options. I was thinking I could change to: "First, second or third for racing on any level", and "First, second or third for design on any level", and "First, second or third for racing and design on any level". Would that work for all o...

Re: How much hardware?
I'm not familiar with these groups. Would the same numbers work as in total trophies attainable? In some cases. I can really only speak about Awana, since that is more my experience, along with Cub Scouts. Many of the over 9,000 Awana Clubs hold Awana Grand Prixs. Not all of the Awana Missionaries ...

Re: How much hardware?
Lets not forget that this sport is not exclusively Cub Scouts. There are lots of Awana, Royal Ranger, Royal Ambassador, Christian Service Brigade, YMCA, and so on, so the terms Den, Pack, and District do not apply to all.

Re: New Member Ranks
Why is there a rank of Spectator since the only time you see the name is when you make a post? Doesn't that make everyone you see a Derby Apprentice? The term is apt since there are many people that are just browsing the board. When they get out of the stands and into the game then they start earni...

Re: New Member Ranks
I though about making it "Certified Pinehead" or maybe even "Master Pinehead". What name would most represent the ultimate in being a Pinehead? What do you all think?darin_mcgrew wrote:And shouldn't there be an Unofficial "Pinehead" rank as well?

Re: eBay okay?
The more workshops, and helping spirits that we have out there, the less the need or temptation for E-bay cars. You guys are full of good comments today. I think it sad when I hear that an organization doesn't have any workshops at all or has one or two really short ones. With less opportunity at s...

Re: eBay okay?
I think this is what it should all be about. If there is a scout in need, figure out a way to help them out. After all isn't that what we are trying to teach *them*: to help those in need or who could use help? They should all get to participate and with their own creations or we as leaders have fa...

Re: eBay okay?
To be honest, none of this bothers me too much. The kids still have a wonderful time. If you put a car in front of a kid and say, “That’s your car.” Then, by golly, that’s’ his car. Interesting philosophy, however not one I subscribe to. Without rules there would be chaos (and I'm not just talking ...

Re: Pinewood Free Speed Axles
The owner of Pinewood Free Speed would need to speak for himself, but I virtually sure that he does not have permission to use the logo. BSA would charge a high price for that right. I highly suspect that is the case. I do hope, if they are trying to run an honest business, they will rectify the si...
