Re: Revell wheels/axles

Thanks. We'll try that route. They do seem straighter and of course require less sanding than the USA axles.

Re: Newbie back again

I click on IMG above and 2 show up next to each other. I copy my photo and paste it between them. I then click IMG again and repeat for a second photo. Do I put all the photos between the first pair of IMG's that appear?
Thanks.

Re: Newbie back again

We're going to try to align rear wheels with front wheels off. I know the front needsto be raised to level with rear when we do this. If the car goes right how do I know which wheel to adjust? Is it possible to have it adjusted to go straight but have both wheels fighting each other in opposite dire...

Re: Newbie back again

So davet, your main competitor uses Chinese wheels, USA axles, graphite and aligns for straight runner. I have some BEAUTIFUL property in Florida that is For Sale. Would you be interested? That cracked me up this morning. He's a standup guy. I think we just didn't have ours setup very well. Remembe...

Re: Newbie back again

DFW weight pics: weight used is a small ball of putty. I did put it behind the rear axle and it lightened up the DFW. Good catch Stan on prev post. I must have mistyped the weight for the weight at the rear. She does feel light in front but I'm hoping I've learned something here and I'm trusting tha...

Re: Newbie back again

The .12 oz of tuning weight does add .12 oz to DFW when added ahead of front axle. Hopefully I'm measuring correctly. Rear wheel same height as front with DFW on scale. If I raise the rear 3/8" higher than front the DFW weight goes up .02. If I lower the rear 3/8" the DFW weight goes down ...

Re: Revell wheels/axles

Where do u groove your axle? We just grooved, tapered and polished 4 Chinese axles. We ran them on every USA wheel we have and they vibrate fiercely. I did not take the ring off. We started our groove back from the head 1/16" and the groove is 1/8" wide.

Re: Newbie back again

I just ran the tank and missile again on table. --Missile is 1" in 4' with both rear wheels moving to axle head and DFW up against the body. --Tank is dead on straight with DFW running against the nail head, one rear wheel running light to nail head and the other running between head and body.

Re: Newbie back again

How do these numbers look now with final wheels and polished grooved axles in place ready for weigh in: - 4.88 oz with COM of 3/4" and DFW weight of .63. -5.00 oz with putty added just ahead of rear axle gives us COM of 3/4" with DFW weight of .73 -5.00 oz with putty added just behind fron...

Re: Newbie back again

Thanks. Does our car look strong enough in rear axle area or should I plate it underneath?

I read that Dr. Jobes article. I couldn't make heads or tales out of all the info there.

Re: Newbie back again

Thanks. I was wondering if the heavier wheels act like a heavier flywheel in a truck. Slower to get spinning but once its spinning it doesn't slow down as quickly. Their good for low speed crawling like in a Jeep. I thought maybe the heavier wheel might want to keep spinning at speed longer once ont...

Re: Newbie back again

I was thinking that more weight could be added behind that axle then which would give more weight further back on that 7" length. When I move my rear axle back from stock slot it allows more weight to the rear without popping wheelies. Doesn't it help to move axle further back yet? I'm just thr...
