Re: Drill press speed for axle polish
Thanks, Whoda. I hadn't thought about the oil with the file, That's a good tip. I've been using Sporty's axle/bore polish method and 300 was to slow and 3200 was too fast. He suggested 600 rpm and that has worked really will with the Micro-Mesh. Paul Paul, I learned a good tip here as well..600 rpm...

Re: Drill press speed for axle polish
HI pgosselin, I think many of us DT users.. may have different view points as to the RPM to spin the Drill press for polishing axels. So the best suggestion I can offer to you. Is to choose an RPM setting that works best for your child & you. Keep in mind the faster the rpm the quicker the mater...

Re: Best bang for the buck tools
I agree with the others, last thing you want is sawdust in wheelbores. I like to pre drill a few 3/16'' holes under the car. Befor I install the wheels & axels And at check in i'll pop a few 3/16'' tungsten beads or disks in. With a checked sticker covering the added weight. That's if there use...

Re: Best bang for the buck tools
For actual weigh-in, we like to go heavy and drill out wood for perfect fit. Again using a forstner bit to 'sand' away enough wood underneath to get the scale to hover on 5.0. Please tell me your not getting any of that saw dust..Down in the wheel bores. You do want to go fast don't you? SPEED TIP!...

Re: BSA Rules in the Box
Thanks, that confirmed what I was looking for. "Only dry lubricant is permitted" I don't recall that "rule" existing beforehand. What about the one seen under IMPORTANT. gpraceman, I hope it ok to add this web site to this topic. http://www.oocities.org/~pack215/pwd-rules.html&q...

Re: wheel location vs com
For energy availability, the important CM measurement is relative to the nose. The CM of the car body relative to the nose does not change just because the of the axle move. Moving the axle does change the distribution of weight between front and rear axles, so you may need some drift adjustments. ...

And some of your work on differen't PWD Web sites. I must say I really like the semi trucks yo...

Re: Has anyone heard of this lube?
Guys, lets not get in to a fight here! Sporty, I've never used this stuff.. you have. I'm just reading how he states to apply it from his manual. And yes Sporty, like you I think the price is to much to pay! Not knowing what this stuff is or what 5 materials are used in this lube. Some have asked if...

Feel free to ask questions - Merry CHRISTMAS. *5 J's* Now that Habanero car is HOT! What's up with the RR lettering se...
