Re: A few bad apples at the district

Chenille is made with polyester where as "real pipe cleaners" are made with cotton. Cotton is softer and will not scar the wheel bores. The real pipe cleaner are more dense in the fiber material leaving less "Open" space for the metal wire to rub against the wheel bore.

Re: New Tool Suggestion

Where is the wheel mass removed in the 3.3 gram wheels? Will a tool described above detect them? Randy – anybody? The 3.3 gram wheels are wheels that have been lathe turned on the exterior side of the tread surface, which, IMO, would weigh about the same as a wheel that has been turned utilizing th...

Re: Air Brush Paints - Types?

Water based Acrylic paint is a very good airbrush paint but is not "Shiney". One brand that I found to have a very good choice for Automotive type of finishes is called AutoAir Colors. A Urethane based clear coat will give the paint the "Shine" that you are looking for. I have pe...

Re: Glued Axels?

If you can't borrow or find a drill press, buy yourself a pro-body tool for (I think they're about) $11 (plus shipping). Comes with the right size drill bit and does a pretty good job for the cost IMO. Bubba, You can use the pro-body tool without a drill press? I'm going to have to look into those ...

Re: Metal-cast paint question.

It appears even the base prime coat chipped away. Would we start with a new prime? How do we prevent chipping (other than reducing the speed of the car? Gissmo If you have bare wood there, YES a new prime is necessary. If there is primer still there, then rough the area up with 600 grit and spray t...

Re: Changing fron Grapite to Krytox

You can't without removing the wheels because there will always be a little graphite there. To get the graphite off ou would need to use a pipe cleaner soaked in some denatured alcohol. My suggestion would be to stick to the graphite if that is what you started with.
