ADDED 60th anniversary logos

Ive added some generic "60" logos -- should anyone want customized or modifiied versions for their event, let me know Id be happy to shoot you one since they are already built ( adding district name, date, pack name, etc ). As far as the Rules Doc, every year I struggle with the option of ...

2013 evolution of CFC / SeminoleSprings Event Guide

I have chosen to continue to provide design and construction guidance in our Event Guide / Rules Document, but worked through all of it to clean up the appearance and provide as much visual attenuation to the verbiage as possible. http://seminolesprings.com/529_cub/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/2013SPD...

Axles in Revell Kits

I was wondering if anyone has spoken about the differences in the nails / axles between the Revell Kits and the BSA Kits? I finally have gotten ahold of a Revell Kit, and notice the nails look very different: only minor crimping, and the tips are more indicative of a machined piece than a stamped one...

Re: How many lanes is too many?

I'm considering some "spirit of scouting" changes going forward, and one addition I'm considering, is to have either the race crew give guidance to any cars who finish last more than once by more than a few cart lengths... Whether it be spind some graphite into the wheels, or correct align...

Re: List of all speed modifications in regards to rules crea

Mr. Rukkian, I actually use to feel exactly like you. I can't seem to make up my mind. I really dislike our latest new rule, "all four wheels must turn" but since everyone has to do it I'll have to live with it. Perhaps racing in our district is not as bad as I think. It certainly is chal...

Re: List of Unenforceable Rules at Check-In

I respectfully disagree with the premise for your list. The reason for showing rules is to give the builders of PWD cars the guidelines and parameters within which to design and construct their cars. Rules are to be included within the published rules that allow builders to know what IS and IS NOT p...

Re: Dual track racing

The length of the racing time within your event is determined by the number of cars you have x average time between heats.200 racers x 1 minute per race = 200 minutes of racing, or jsut over 3.25 hrs. Increasing or decreasing lanes doesn't change the number of races. It does require a significant am...

Re: How Not to Run A Pinewood Derby Event

As a derby event coordinator for several years, I can tell you that I have a few primary motivations for each of my rules. First, I want my "customers" to come away ffrom my events with the feeling that their efforts were worth the time and money invested in the project of pinewood derby. ...

Re: Best Track Storage Box

I've seen Best Track's plans for a box, but ours is a 4 lane track and the curved section, is well, throwing me a curve! I've played around with placing the curved section on it's edge besides the 4-7' sections and I end up with a 16"x22"x84" box. What I don't like about that is bein...

Re: 2012 Revised Rules

Of course rules (and inspection) can be simplified by eliminating restrictions. It is not obvious why relocating the axles in this way (while still maintaining a standard 4 3/8" wheelbase) should be disallowed. What concern is being addressed? Is it a necessary consequence of the way inspectio...

Re: 2012 Revised Rules

You've restricted the wheelbase to 4 3/8". You've restricted the maximum distance between the front axle and the front of the car to 1 11/16". That means that the only way for the rear axle to be 5/8" from the rear of the car is if they remove 5/16" from the rear of the car, sim...

Re: 2012 Revised Rules

I have a few questions... Kid enters race with revell, bsa approved precut body kit. Are those bsa officially recognized kits also recognized as approved in these rules? Do you have council races? I personally would object to having a "di aled in" car torn down after a race. Either they ar...
