3 Wheel Car: Suspended wheel hole height
How much higher than normal do you drill the hole for the suspended, unused front wheel? All inputs welcome. Thanks!

We are using .040" this year.
Last year we used about the same, maybe a tad more due to drilling mistake, it seemed to work OK.

What is the hight difference using the pro-body tool, anyone know? Well, one person will know for sure

I'm measuring it at .064

This is the measured difference from standard hole to lifted hole on the Pro Boby Tool.
As far as the height it puts it in the block, I didn't measure that.

We place axle holes .140" for 3 holes, and .180" measured from the bottom of the block.

Is there any problem with the raised wheel being raised too high, (other than looking funny or 'just not right')? Is the consensus here that if it is raised at least, say .040, it shouldn't hit anything?
I think I just answered my own post- - if the wheel is raised too high, isn't the possibility of it 'climbing' the center strip and jumping the track increased?

Most all modern tracks (and allot of older ones) have a center guide strip height of .250. We like to keep the lifted wheel distance between .060 or minimum, and a maximum of .100.
Anything above .100, as you said, can risk the chance of climbing/jumping over the guide strip.
Anything under .060, and you risk the wheel touching, especialy in the transition, due to chassis flex (aggresive design), or weight too far forward.

Thanks for the mins and maxs. I've always just eye-balled the raised wheel height in the past. Next time I'll measure it.
