"Vintage" Derby Kits

Post by ciodude »

The only place I know to buy "vintage" derby kits is the folks at Beta Crafts, Inc. The call it their Original Pine Car Kit (1956). But they only sell it in lots of 24 or 48. Does anyone else know where one can buy that type of kit in ones and twos (or threes and fours)?

Get a hold of Warren aka MrSlick. He had a supply of them from an old school race we did at PWDRacing.com. I think he may still have some of the individual kits for sale.

Lucky13,

Thank you for the information...I picked one up from Warren.

If anyone is interested, the minimum Beta Craft will sell is 24. I can't use 24 Kits, however I would be willing to take 6 Kits and if we can get enough guys to go in on this we may be able to order enough Kits as a group to use 24.

If anyone interested let me know and how many you can use??

3 years ago I bought 12 of the vintage kits from BetaCrafts (sold 6 to a PWD friend). If you call them you can order what ever quantity you want.

To build a "vintage" type PWD car...don't we really just need the vintage type wheels?

Actually if you cut your own axle supports I guess you could just order wheel kits. The Kit comes with the wood axle supports with slots for the axles, directions, specs, decals etc.
