I wonder if one could reduce the diameter of the outer inch of a typical drill bit by 0.001 or 0.002" using emery cloth. The cloth might tend to "reach around" the tip of the bit, though, and dull / ruin the cutting face of the bit. Anybody try this before with satisfactory results?
