Testors paint and temperature

Post by Noskills »

I have noticed that when I use the small cans of Testors spray paint that the spray often has large particles. Just did a lossy job of painting a car. Then I recalled that it might be the outdoor temp in the garage. After sanding the car, and soaking the paint can in warm water I got a much nicer finish.
Anyone have the same issues (and I am talking like 60 degrees not -20)

Can't speak for Testors, but I definitely get a better finish when I use Rustoleum spray paint in warmer weather than when it is chilly outside.

Make sure to check the instructions on the paint can. It will give a temperature range for best results. If you get outside that temperature range, you will likely have issues. This is true of any paint.

Agree. Also check that the nozzle is clean. It goes without saying that it should be shaken well.

that you have used some out of it and let it set on the shelf or work bench for a while.
