Decal paper, vinyl decal tips

Post by sporty »

I thought Id share some links.

I have used or use the following,

Not all that cheap, but plan on mistakes and trial and error, until you understand and do it right.

all of these, you pretty much have to have a white car, dark colors, they just don't show or work right. I like to use a flat white and clear over, once the decals are applied.

two sheets, one for printing, one for peeling and sticking, a bit tricky, its thin when placed on, not thick.

I like this one, the vinyl is a little thicker and shows a bit more, perhaps a few extra coats of clear or make sure you cut, no extra clear showing past the decal.

Inkjet vinyl adhesive glossy decal paper

another kind, requires a spray top coat.

More work but works

I thought id share these links. I think this becomes a preference and what works best for you.

Sporty,

I have used white adhesive (label) paper to print my decals and they look OK, but not great. I have tried to print on the clear adhesive paper but the printing is always too light (especially if on dark paint).
Is that decal paper better?

I like the vinyl decal glossy clear , the best,

yes , really have not found anything that works on other then white paint back ground.

I had just wanted to share what I use, not sure its the best, but often we don't mention these types of things enough or are mentioned in another post, not with a topic, with the subject being what I started.

makes it easier for people to search , in the search feature.

Anyone, please feel free, to share what you use and links, to provide options to those who might want to try it.
