Oil question

Post by Noskills »

Hey all,

First time running oil in the pack race. We prepped the cars 2 weeks ago with 1-2 drops per axle. Cars are sitting on blocks in my chilly garage. Race is this Thur. Should we add an additional drop per axle prior to the race or is the original prep (when we did our tuning) enough?

We're just beginning to use oil ourselves. We waxed bores with liquid glass, sprayed axles with DuPont Chain Saver. Used 1-2 tiny drops of Krytox per axle, and I'm fretting that we used too much.

Oil lasts a long, long time once it's in the wheel bore, so I would say don't add any more. Just make sure you're keeping them in tupperware or something to ward off dust.

Thank Kurt. We did the same prep but used red rocket wax. They are in tupperware or what I like to call my pine wood chambers of solitude!

Seth move your cars to a warmer place... what happens to oil when it's cold?
You can thank me for saying this later. ;)
What type of automobile can be spelled the same forwards & backwards?

Or at least make sure the cars have some time to warm up before the race?
