Well the small box of parts came today no track
It seems you only got the start gate, car stop assembly and connecting plates. Their website shows three packages, two being the track.
I have give em credit, the packaging looks pretty good 8)

:( No communication concerning rest of track shipment is really a sad commentary

I called and got the voice mail so I sent this email,
TO: email:info@pinewoodderbytrack.com
Monday, October 10th, 2005

Greetings Diane,

Thank you so much for sending part of the order it arrived as agreed upon on the 7th. We would like to know the status of the rest of the track parts (track extrusions). Would you please be so kind as to send a tracking number, I am once more getting uneasy about timing we have a district wide derby on Saturday the 15th of October. I will need time to build the track. I can be reached by cell (XXX) 2X9-1XXX, email emXerorXsbcglobalXXXX or send an SMS text message to my cell phone.

I received a tracking number Thursday only after I sent E-mail to Piantedosi. I never got contacted as they promised and after I seen Frog's tracking number I ask about the status of mine. I got no reply to my E-mail just an E-mail from UPS with the tracking number. It is supposed to arrive tomorrow. It only shows 1 package at a weight of twenty pounds. It appears that I to am only getting the small parts. What good is that? I don't understand there unwillingness to comunicate about this issue. I have no faith that the track will be here by the time I need it. I think 3 and 1/2 months is plenty of time to address any equipment problems that they might have had.

I got my tracking number for the "Track Sections" it should be here on the 14th just shy of the next derby date of the 15th. Sure hope it is easy to put together. Talk about cutting it close.

Diane told me today that the quality is perfect, fingers crossed.

Well great news our track came today.
One part was damaged in transit but easy fix.

With the help of another Cub dad we put it together for the race in the morning then took it apart to pack it.

GREAT quality!

WAY HEAVIER then expected over 300 pounds with box.

IF YOU BUILD the box per plan for a 40' 6 Lane track FORGET IT, BUILD 2 the weight is the problem. I can see one box for a 4 lane 32' but no way with a 6 X 40'

We still need to adjust it some but it is too late tonight.

One thought, HE had to have LOST money on this track when I got home today UPS had just delivered a 5pm 3 80LB boxes sent 3 day from his factory just so we would not miss our October 15th district bring a friend to cam demo derby! THANKS! That tells you they really do stand by their product!

I have on order a 40' x 4 lane Freedom.
I hope it's lighter than 300#
A solution for your box: 2 more handles and 2 'gorillas'

How much weight does it take to make the 6 lane track bend properly and to be stable :?: I have 10 # of weight ready for our 4 lane

The track went together as per plan. 20 pounds was fine I upgraded the pipe that came for the weight rack with a metal pipe the PVC one bent when the weights were hung.

Did you notice the web site! They now offer hard anodising and a car rack. Cool stuff.

Looks like the bad time is well behind them. I wish them all the best.

For your box TWO handles on each end not one and perhaps one on each cornor for the gorrillias :)

I am very happy!

I think it would be good to put the box on casters. If it is that heavy, you don't want to be lifting it that much.

I thought about that but that makes transport a problem in a van unless you flip the case over. Our pack has to move this around ALOT over stairs and storrage just as easy to grab 4 guys and 4 boys I am going to add 4 handles. ;) Make those Cubs grow!

Did you see the car rack on their web page?

I was looking at the car rack, quite pleased the red, white & blue theme. Then I saw the flag. Somebody was really thinking

The only problem I can foresee would be, maybe, the cars are too close together. Definately an adult would have to be in charge of the rack, and then, they themselves would have to be extra careful picking up and setting the cars. I can't tell from the photos if there are "curbs" to keep the cars from rolling? Spacing them out then would be a good idea. Just my personal preferences here. 8)

The price of $150 is little high maybe :?:

The real positive, would be that the design judges could easily move the cars to and from a secluded area for judging. In Awana GP, we have a short Gospel message, a time that the design judging is done. And if the judges are in view, who do you think the kids are watching?
