I've noticed that with tracks in which the starter has to manually flip the lever to start the race the rate of the speed of the 'flip' can sometimes effect time consistency.
Where are some places to go get a starting gate set up to keep the races more consistent?
Or some plans to build one. Even if you've already got a track that you would like to change the starting gate set up.
Pegs are presently 4" from center. Four Lane.
Timer system is the Race Master IV.

Re: Starting gate system types
What kind of track? Wood? Aluminum? Brand? Home built?
The commercial tracks such as BestTrack and Pianadosi come with spring loaded starters. Relatively simple mechanism.

Wood track. Crafted by a master craftsman. Just wondering if there might be a way to modify the starting mech. to be more consistent with the race master electronics.
Whether or not you can get a pre built set up, or is there some plans for them.

What you need is something that is spring (or rubber band) opened and released with a lever or latch.
