Starting height

Post by sdupont1 »

According to the derby worx web, the starting height of the 35' best track is 50". Where is that measurement coming from, the very back end of the track, starting pin? I measured mine and the starting pin is about 43" with the back of the track at about 47". These are approx. measurements.

I believe they measure that at the very back of the track. The track that I'm making the starting pin was set at 7 1/2 inches from the end of the track. If you notice (not sure for aluminum tracks) there's always a couple of un-used inches so why not make it a little higher for more speed for your cars.

Measured the very back of mine and its 48.5". I wonder is I should raise it so that it would be 50" in order to get accurate times?
