These are the "rules" that are in the "official" rules pamphlet:
The race is based on a low point scoring system. Points are awarded for 1st 2nd and 3rd place. (1=1st, 2nd=2 and 3rd=3). Cars race until they have accumulated 10 or more points. The top three cars will race against each other to determine 1st, 2nd and 3rd per division. The top 3 finishers will advance to the pack finals which will be conducted in the same format. Additional race categories (groups) may be established at the discretion of the Race Committee.
Does GPRM actually do LOWEST points to winner, or the opposite? ( Highest points to winner )
Does GPRM have the ability to invert the points awarded?
Does GPRM have the ability to allow "custom" points, to try to avoid ties? ( example 1 point for first, then skip "2" and do 3 points for second, 4 points for 3rd, and so on )

Re: Points awarded in "official" rules vs. GPRM
That format seems tailored to the RaceView software, which has a point elimination threshold. The only form of elimination that GPRM supports is if you wish to run additional rounds of racing. In that case you can advance the top N racers. Otherwise, within a round everyone will have an equal chance to race.pack529holycross wrote:These are the "rules" that are in the "official" rules pamphlet:

No. I never saw a good reason to. It was easier to program with the points matching the finish order.pack529holycross wrote:Does GPRM have the ability to invert the points awarded?
No. I think you inordinately penalize racers by otherwise weighting the points system.pack529holycross wrote:Does GPRM have the ability to allow "custom" points, to try to avoid ties? ( example 1 point for first, then skip "2" and do 3 points for second, 4 points for 3rd, and so on )
There is a whole section in the help file about ties (avoiding them in the first place and breaking them).
