Extra equipment

Post by Dave Burg »

:?: What extra equipment do you need to run grand prix software and use a projector to show the race results? Do you need to purchase extra cables or can you just run the program ? I use a Best Track with a Judge timing system. Thanks guys!

You just need the appropriate video cable to connect up the projector to your computer. Usually the projector will come with a relatively short video cable. Depending on where you want to put the computer in respect to the projector, you may need a longer cable. If so, you can find these at various places online.

Given some cheap LCD prices, we used an extra monitor this year. Video went out from the laptop to the projector, and the projector had an extra out back the monitor.

This allows the race operator to see what the audience is seeing. In our setup, the projector is shown behind the operators as they face down track.

Certainly not required. Also not required if not using dual monitor or extended desktop mode.
