Waterproof glue for foam board

Post by macd »

This is my first Raingutter Regatta. I'm going to create a set of kits for my den following the design on http://www.lastufka.net/lab/boats" target="_blank.
It calls for using residential insulating foam board and plastic sheets to build the boat.
It also calls for waterproof glue.
What kind of waterproof glue is compatible with foam boards and plastic?

macd,

Well I know of one. (( please don't take the name of this glue wrong! ))
That is called Sticky A_ _ Glue Its 100 % waterproof glue.
That bonds Eps board, (foam,) brick, ceramic,
wood, metal, stone,fiberglass, (and plastics.)

That might be what you are looking for your waterproof glue.
Hope it will work for your glue application.

I know my scouts would get a kick out of that name. Not sure about my scout-parents. :)
Unfortunately, according to label info:
Not for use by children
:(

I have to go for safety and easy clean-up, over waterproof.

It seems Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue has all of the properties you are looking for. It is a waterproof PVA adhesive. It is not specifically listed for foam board, it would be a waterproof Elmer’s glue.

Thanks Andy!

Please dont take the name of glue in the wrong way!
It was the only waterproof glue that i knew of for foam and plastics.
If it will not work because of the name or if you fell its unsafe.
Then please do not use it.

And Sorry macd.

Mark

Aleene's Original Tacky Glue is water-soluble (the opposite of waterproof). It is PVA glue -- a thicker version of Elmer's.
