Star Wars cars

Post by piazza »

Post your Star Wars themed cars here.

I'll start with our latest creations.

Gold Leader (Y-wing):

Clone Turbo Tank:

Only 3 wheels on the ground for both of these. I know the Turbo Tank should have 10 wheels, but the 5th set would have exceeded the 7" length. We even put a small washer inside the two inner sets of wheels on the Turbo Tank to just widen their gap as to not rub on the track guide.

Hope you like!

Last September the Clone Turbo Tank took 1st place in all six voter categories for best design (including best animal?) at our council event. :bigups:

The turbo tank was a 2nd and 3rd place runner surprisingly. We had to really get in its guts with the dremel to get it down to 5 ounces.

Heres a Star wars tank we made last year.

It was our 3rd tank in 3 years and the fastest one yet. Now my son is starting to think about what to do this year after just receiving his kit

The camo was pretty easy to make. It involved creating a paper template and then randomly using the template with 3-4 colors of spray paint. I took a few pieces of paper and had the kids draw random jigsaw puzzle shapes and then cut them out with scissors. Then take this template to the car and start spraying with the first color 2nd etc..Its very forgiving because if you mess up with one patterns you can just spray over it again with a different color or pattern
