The tongue was cut from a plastic lid off a jar of salsa . It was the color I needed & had the right profile (and the bottle was close to empty )

Fast enough for the folks I raced here.

Is that really cut into the wood ? I have made plastic pegs kind of like that before, but either screwed them into the side or epoxied from the bottom.

Your district allows cars like this or by "leaders of the pack" do you mean a non-scout division? Sweet car either way!

- Quadad - Thanks and yes, it is glued into a slot in the wood of the car; balsa made that fairly easy.

- botomgun - This type of car is only for the Leaders, using needle axles & razor wheels. All the Cubs cars and our "Friends & Family" Division use unlightened, unaltered BSA wheels.
