couple of new ones

I started a couple of new cars just for fun...
one is almost done (obviously) and the other not so much (ditto)

this one is based on the ficticious redbull x1 car from Grand Turismo 5
pictured here...

I'll post new pics when I finish them.

made some progress over the last couple of days...had time off from work due to the hurricane.
just breezy and rainy here.

The one on the left is gonna stay in primer. It's going to be donated to my church's AWANA program as a prize for best attendance
or most verses memorized or something. Whoever wins it is gonna have to paint it, I'm not going to give away a car completely ready to
run. They wouldn't be able to make it theirs if I did.

The one on the right has been a challenge as the front wheels are not directly attached to the body but to the front fenders instead.
It's coming along though.

These cars are outstanding! Can't even imagine the amount of time you have to put in to get them to look this great. And regarding the paint....I'm luck to get my son to put on a few quick coats on the car!

All three cars are nice builds. The ficticious Redbull X1 car from Grand Turismo 5 appears to be a complex car to construct.

I appreciate the positive feedback.

The X1 car is complicated, but probably not as bad as you might think. All I did was clamp the precut fender material to the center block
and then drill the holes at the correct angles through it into the center block. Take the fenders off and cut the center block down to size.
then when you assemble use a straight edge to make sure the fenders are aligned to the rear section properly. The different angles of the
various rods make it so it really only fits at one distance anyway.

not too complicated...

Well, I think I messed up a long hard build by finishing with a bad paint job.
I hate paint. My yellow is a little too school bus-ish and there is just too much of it.
Maybe I'll add some sponsor stickers just to break it up a little.

Scubersteve, Are you kidding.. it looks good in yellow..
You could put some checkerd flag strips on it and call it a Taxi,
or you could go for a Mell Yello soda indy car look.
Anyhow I really like the looks of this cool looking car.

Funny how you say school bus-ish look..
I started on a 1928 ford woodie wagon that i thought about calling ..
Moms Taxi or Chool-Bus. keeping it with the vintage look.
hope to be posting a photo or two of it soon.

Ray Harroun's 1911 Marmon Wasp.. Was painted yellow and black
and was also the very first Indy 500 winner. Maybe a little yellow on black gos a long way.

Those are some awesome builds! I was thinking of doing an Indy/F1 type car with the tubular front suspension, but hadn't come up with how to do it until now. Thanks for the inspiration.
