Post by sporty »

I thought for those bored, might want a trip down pinewood derby memory lane, I thought why not re share and show pictures of some of the many cars we have built over the years and toss in a few neat side hobby pictures to boot.

See enjoy the pictures.

Wow- those are some great designs! I particularly like this one - it has a certain showcar vibe to it.

Each and every one of them are cool looking cars Sporty! 8)
From all the photos:
I can see how you have tryed alot of different things.. just tinkering around as you like to call it..trew the years of makeing the cars.

Some look as if you spent days building them and some look as if you were pressed for time to get them made.. keeping them simple but fast.
But each and every one of them holds a Memory of when you made them or the race's thay have won
well spent with you're kids out in the shop or out on the track.
What type of automobile can be spelled the same forwards & backwards?

There is a green car around midway down that is a reflective green, simple but very cool. Nineth picture down. Looks like green tin foil, can you tell me what you covered it with?

Lot of cars!

Question, Please?
Do I have to buy a wind tunnel to be competitive?

Gorgeous cars. That long, sleek, green sparkly car caught my eye also. Nice paint work.

Yeah, that one jumped out at me as a really cool design. It has a very retro, yet modern look. Kinda like what they thought the future was going to look like in the 1950's.

Thanks for sharing again, Sporty.

Many of the cars are long gone. And there was many that we made or I made, that never got pictures taken.

I either used the monokote r/c trim or paint and I liked to use the krylon X metals or other fancy stuff from autozone. Last I check tho, they dont have it anymore in my area. You can also get glitter clear coat from autozone.

I also think the car you guys are refering to is one, I bought, that came shaped liked that. Meaning I did not cut that one, just sanded and painted it.

I dont think it ever raced, I think it was slow, back then I was still developing alignment skills. and still am. lol

It's faster ! If your pack rules allow it, Mostly I did it, because 1 year the pack / council allowed it. It was faster then 4 on the floor regular style way.

It allowed the front right rail rider wheel, to not be effected as much with the other wheel. When placed farther back.

However, the pack / council quickly changed the rule and it was no longer allowed.
