Noskills, here's the trophy breakdown:

Scouts Division (Webelos 1):

Cow car:

~1st in Rank - Speed
~1st in Pack (Overall Winner)

Hot Dog car: (here's the shocker as his car was only 4.38 ounces - he was going for Design, not Speed. We did go ahead and polish the wheel bores and polish the axles, since the car was so light. Therefore it would seem that friction reduction trumps car shape/aerodynamics as well as overall car weight when it comes to posting faster times). People in the audience were shocked at how fast the hot dog was, considering it's shape...

~2nd in Rank for Speed
~2nd in Pack for Speed (Overall 2nd Place in Pack)
(Would have won the 'Most Realistic' Design award, but was removed from consideration because of his Speed awards)

'Unlimited/Outlaw' Division:

Red 'Bedazzled' car:

~1st Place - Speed

'Open' Division (anyone with a 5 ounce, standard rules car):

~1st Place - Speed (but I removed my entry from trophy consideration since I was just racing for fun, thus only 5 trophies in the pic.)

Congrats! Does your District have a district race, or are you now done?

Bird dog,

Our District does not have a Derby, so we're done until Mid-America I suppose.

That stinks. You're in Topsanah District, right? We're in Frontier Trails of the same Council. BTW, there is a race at the BSA Museum in Irving, usually in the Summer. It was in June last year. Maybe we'll see you there! :)

TXDerbyDad,

Yes, we're in Topsanah. Heard about the National race in Irving, and would definitely be interested in working with the boys to build a car or two for that.
