I first thought you were going to do a Mike & Ike car.. you tricked me with the Monster car.

PM sent Thanks for the weights to try out Joe.

Joe, do you also use a CA glue accelerator to speed up the drying time of the CA glue?
I know alot of times builders use the ca glue to cover the balsa befor painting
or a white wood glue thined in water.

Would Deft lacquer sanding sealer work for this also as I'm thinking weights on the glue types here.
Hi Mark,

Yes. I usually cover the wood with CA glue as a sealer.

Also, The accelerator is very handy for gluing things. I have heard some builders will spray the accelerator onto a piece of balsa first, and put CA glue on the other piece. This makes the glue cure before it has time to seep into the porous balsa.

I think the Basswood fenders, although heavier are much easier to work with.

I think that a scout could do the basswood fenders !!

here's the basswood fender one in flat white primer stage.

this is my 4th Nellie faye clone and I don't think yet I have done one like the original builder of them. Mine all look different too. more cut, less cut, more angle, less angle, flair, ect.

Hi Sporty,

Just curious:

What type of vinyl do you use? Do you have a link?

Ok Sporty, I am liking that dip behind the front axles.

That is starting to take on some Sporty Spoon aero/characteristics.

I like it!

It also looks more dynamic than the green one.

Just paint can, I use to use a air brush.

I have a old roland stx 7, small vinyl cutter, they don't even carry the vinyl for it anymore, that size. I get the 8 inch or 12 inch size. Been around since 1998. Still works. only works using the old serial printer connection. Tried serial to usb converter would not work. Ill get some more vinyl, when I get some money. I usually find it on ebay for $7 for a yard or more. I use to buy it buy the 5 yards.

Using a air brush is not to hard. the trick is getting the pressure, settings right, takes a bit of practice on some practice wood. I had a pasche one. I almost always used the smaller needles for it. I had a 2 gallon compressor I used. I did a few cars with the air brush. I like the double action air brush. I used good air brush paint. not cheap. $5 for one, I had about $50 worth.

What details you looking for ?

Anymore, I just use can paint, good sanding prep work and a good gloss.

Sporty, you have some nice looking guitars!

I haven't ever used an air brush.. and don't know a hole lot about them!
I've have been toying around with the idea of getting one though.

I know I shoulden't try to clone your paint jobs that you've done on your cars..so the pic you'll see.

Well it's just my way of saying have a (Good Halloween) and I don't think my trick is working out as far as killer looking paint jobs go!

Thats my favorite flavor of Monster. Never liked the original ones. Trying to stay away from all energy drinks now though and stick to coffee.

Well if you insist. I go with my version of a bullet proof coffee :morning:

16oz of water
2 T fresh ground coffee
brewed using an Aeropress
Image
Then I add:
1T Coconut Oil
1T Kerry Gold grass-fed cow unsalted butter
1T Heavy Whipping Cream

I then use a stick blender to mix it all up.
Sometimes I throw in cinnamon with the coffee grounds before brewing to give it a different flavor.
