Our first year car. Shark style Car.Has blue LEDs underside( underside looks special too) and runs to headlight also. This car was the beginning of annual sea creature themed cars for Alex.

Our second year car: The OCTOPUS. And yes. Its all pine wood. I'll post a build pic or 2 later. People at show kept asking if it was molded out of plastic or resin.
Octo racer is about 4 inches tall, has a hollow pine head with led light up eyes (battery currently drained for picture..sorry). And yes it made weight at pack track races and placed 10th out of 25 cars..lol.

Our 4th year show car: the Crab. We decided to award crabby before he went off to districts..because the judges never seemed partial to sea creatures. Crabby judges. And yes it made weight at pack races.not great on speed but not last place either. We would still polish the mechanics up on the fun abstract cars too.

Our 5th year show car: The FLAMING STINGRAY. since the judges sank our hopes of winning any trophies with the previous sea creatures we opted to combine speed and sea. Alex won 5 place overall at districts with Stingray( Straight flat runner)The really cute thing about this car is that he has been wearing a Stingray stuffed animal from the zoo...on his head since he was in second grade. It looks like a Daniel Boone hat.when he "wears it" Its like a security blanket or something. He finally stopped wearing it out of the house like a few months ago. He still loves it at 11yrs old..Fun stuff.

Wow that's some crazy skills with the sea creatures. That is hard to believe they didn't take best design. Makes me curious what the winning cars looked like to beat all those.

Whose cars are the red with yellow wheels and the USA one?

Very impressive. We're such underachievers now after seeing those machines.

My Alex came to me that year and asked "Dad, can you help me make an octopus car?" I immediately said it was impossible. He was really upset. So we drew up a few ideas , but none seemed to fit the car rules and size limits. Drawing designs wasn't working , so i came up with a rough in and this is what it looked like . ....Image
